The little things matter.

When people think about getting stronger, they often think about the big lifts squats, deadlifts, carries and rows.

But lasting strength is built through the details.

As part of Gabby’s strength program, we use exercises like ring support holds alongside her bigger lifts to develop the foundations that support everything else:
✔️ Shoulder stability
✔️ Core strength
✔️ Grip strength
✔️ Postural control
✔️ Body awareness

The unstable nature of the rings forces the body to work as one integrated unit, teaching control, coordination and resilience.

It’s these small pieces of the puzzle that help our clients continue progressing, reduce injury risk and build strength that carries over into everyday life.

Gabby has earned every bit of her progress through consistency, effort and trust in the process.

Why do we do a Free Movement Assessment before anyone joins Focus? 👇

Because we never wanted Focus to feel like a typical gym.

Most gyms hand you a membership and hope you figure it out.
At Focus, we believe great coaching starts with understanding YOU first.

Before anyone joins our small group training, we take the time to:
✨ understand your body
✨ learn about injuries or pain
✨ assess balance, strength, mobility and movement patterns
✨ understand your goals and confidence levels
✨ and most importantly… help you feel comfortable and supported from day one

Our Movement Assessment isn’t a workout or intimidating fitness test.

It’s a conversation, a starting point and a roadmap.

For many people especially over 50 walking into a gym can feel overwhelming.
You might be worried about injuries, keeping up, not knowing what to do or whether exercise will actually help your body.

That’s exactly why we do things differently.

The assessment allows us to:

✔ decide whether you’re best suited to small group training or some initial 1:1 support

We all know strength is important. 💪🏻

But without the mobility and control to support it, your body will often find ways to compensate.

Over time, that’s where tightness, discomfort and injuries can start to show up.

This is Focus client Terry working through a 90/90 position with her arms out in front, which increases the demand more than most people expect.

It’s not just about getting into the position.

It’s about being able to control it.
