🎉 Happy 6th Birthday to 360 Southwest! 🎉

Today marks six years since 360 Southwest began with a simple vision , to make a real difference in the lives of the people living in our community.

What started as a small idea has grown into an incredible organisation delivering a range of services, employing a dedicated and passionate team, and creating opportunities for people to achieve their goals, build independence, and connect with their communities.

Over the past six years, we've celebrated countless successes, overcome challenges, shared plenty of laughs, and had the privilege of walking alongside so many amazing participants and families on their journeys.

To our participants, families, guardians, staff, support workers, coordinators, therapists, community partners, and everyone who has been part of the 360 story so far , thank you💚
Your trust, support, and belief in what we do has made this milestone possible.

I am personally so incredibly proud of how far we've come, but even more excited about what lies ahead.

From exercising and exploring the community to spending time with friends and sharing plenty of laughs, it’s been fantastic to see everyone building confidence, friendships and independence while having fun along the way.

This week, our Community Inclusion participants spent time learning about the importance of volunteering and recognising the incredible work volunteers do within our community. 🧡

Participants explored the meaning of National Volunteer Week and Wear Orange Wednesday, celebrating the dedication of our SES volunteers and the many people who give their time to help others.

Together, we brainstormed different volunteering opportunities within the community and created a mind map filled with ideas of how people can make a difference. Participants then designed artwork for our thankyou banner, each choosing a volunteering role that stood out to them, from animal shelters to emergency services and community support.

To show our appreciation, the group visited the local SES to take photographs and personally acknowledge the amazing work volunteers do to keep our community safe.

We are so proud of our participants for engaging so positively in conversations around community, kindness, inclusion, and giving back.🧡

Are you a parent or carer who would like some help supporting an anxious child, a child who refuses school or a child on the Autism Spectrum? South West Healthcare's Infant Child and Youth Mental Health team are launching their term 2 Online Parent Group sessions. The first session is this coming Wednesday 6 May.
All sessions are free and are run by healthcare clinicians. Sessions are NOT recorded so that families can participate freely and comfortably. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums and mother figures in our community 💐

Our participants have been busy creating beautiful handwritten cards and painting flower pots with lots of care and creativity to gift to their mums today. We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day celebrating the special people in their lives ❤️

The past few weeks across our programs have been full of energy, learning, and plenty of fun!

Our Life Skills group has been busy in the kitchen, building confidence and independence while cooking up some delicious meals including pancakes, tacos, and burgers.

The Community Inclusion group has been exploring what makes our local area so special. Participants have been learning about maps and landmarks around Warrnambool, as well as getting out and about to visit local beaches and the RSL, connecting their learning to real world experiences.

Friday Fun Club took a trip out to Port Fairy, enjoying a scenic walk to the lighthouse, games at the oval, lunch at Tower Hill, and finishing off the day with a hit of golf at the driving range.

Meanwhile, our Friday with Friends group enjoyed a great night out, sharing a meal at Schnitz before heading to the cinema to watch the Super Mario movie together.

It’s been fantastic to see everyone engaging, building skills, and making meaningful connections in their community!
