Held in its embrace…
Five years ago today, we crossed the sacred threshold of union.
In a world where marriage is often reduced to a legal status, financial arrangement, or social expectation, I have come to understand it very differently.
For me, marriage is a conscious covenant.
A quiet and enduring vow to bind our lives together in devotion, fidelity, and mutual becoming.
It is a sacred container in which two souls agree to witness one another through seasons of growth, challenge, tenderness, and transformation.
It is not simply about comfort or security.
It is about choosing, again and again, to remain present.
To hold one another in love.
To mature together.
To build a life that is greater than either could create alone.
Over these five years, our union has asked much of us.
It has invited us to deepen.
To soften.
To repair.
To trust.
To continue returning to the heart of what we promised.
Marriage, at its most meaningful, is not the absence of difficulty.
It is the willingness to stay in relationship with integrity and reverence.
To honour the sacred thread that joins two lives (now four).
Today, I give thanks for this bond.
For all that we have weathered.
For all that we continue to become.
And for the love that keeps unfolding between us.
Happy 5th Anniversary, my love.
Still held in the embrace of something far greater than ourselves. ❤️
