Visiting Watsonia Shops this weekend? We’re open - just allow a little extra travel time.

If you’re planning a visit to Watsonia this weekend, please be aware there are temporary traffic changes around Grimshaw Street as part of Victoria’s Big Build.

From 9.00pm Friday 11 September until 5.00am Monday 14 September, Grimshaw Street will be closed in both directions between Macorna Street and Greensborough Road, with signed detours in place. There will also be changed traffic conditions along sections of the Greensborough Bypass throughout the weekend.

The good news is Watsonia Shops is open as usual.

Whether you’re visiting on Saturday for shopping, breakfast or lunch, or joining us on Sunday for more shopping plus our FREE Mini Farm in Watsy Square (10.00am–1.00pm), we’d love to see you.

Simply allow a little extra time for your journey.

Walk into kebabnationaus once and you’ll understand why people keep coming back.

The smell from the grill hits you first. The music’s playing in the background. The team are calling out orders, the meat’s turning on the spit and there’s always something happening. It’s busy without feeling rushed, and whether you’re there for lunch, dinner or a late-night feed, there’s a good chance you’ll be joining a queue of locals who already know exactly what they’re ordering.

The best Father’s Day gifts are often the ones you can’t wrap.

Whether it’s sharing a bowl of noodles that’s been a family favourite for years, enjoying frozen yoghurt in the sunshine, settling in for a long lunch, catching up over coffee and cake or simply finding an excuse to spend a little more time together, Watsonia has plenty of ways to celebrate Father’s Day close to home.

To make the weekend feel even more special, we’ll also have free live music throughout Watsonia Shops on Thursday 3 September (4.00pm-7.00pm) and Sunday 6 September (10.00am-1.00pm), so take your time, wander the main street and enjoy the atmosphere while you’re here.

You can usually tell a lot about a business by the little things people didn’t have to do.

For us, it’s the Halloween displays that somehow get better every year, the Christmas decorations that brighten the waiting room and the effort the team puts into making what can sometimes be an anxious visit feel just a little more welcoming. None of those things are essential to running a medical clinic, but they say a great deal about the people behind Watsonia Central Medical Clinic

That same care carries through everything they do. From the friendly welcome at reception to the doctors and nursing team who take the time to listen, every person contributes to creating a clinic where patients feel genuinely looked after. It’s easy to talk about compassion, but it’s something quite different to see it reflected in the way people greet you, the atmosphere they’ve created and the pride they take in looking after their community every single day.

Perhaps that’s why so many locals speak so highly of the clinic. It’s not just because they’re professional or experienced. It’s because people remember how they were made to feel, and the team at Watsonia Central Medical Clinic has a wonderful way of making every visit feel just a little easier than you expected it would.
