A couple of weeks ago I threw myself in the deep end with my first ever fitness comp at in Sydney! And to make things more challenging for my first comp convinced me to join the Elite division!
Signing up for this comp was more than just a gym/fitness goal. I realised at the start of this year that I was waiting for this elusive “perfect time” before I signed up to anything where my body was “perfect” - no injuries or niggles, no life stress, be “so fit” (whatever that means) to the point that I would win whatever I entered. Surprising (not), that time never came and will never come, so I decided to push my perfectionist traits as far out of the way as I could and just sign up!
This comp and the lead up challenged me lots with recovering from a bad wrist injury where I was in a brace 24/7 and learning lots of new skills and exercises with help from the guys at
Proud of myself is an understatement and here’s to many more comps in the future! 🙏🏼

I’ve been sitting on this idea for a while - mostly because I keep thinking I needed everything mapped out and perfect before I started.
But the conversations I’m having with women every week around strength, bone health, perimenopause and menopause feel too important to keep inside clinic walls.
So this is me finally starting.
I’m looking forward to sharing more here around evidence-based exercise, bone health and practical ways to feel strong and be strong for the long term 🤍

🌟 CLIENT APPRECIATION 🌟
One of the most rewarding and special parts of my job as a Women’s Health specialised EP is seeing my clients progress through their pregnancy into their next phase as a new mum (and getting baby cuddles ofcourse!) 🤱🏼
This is Nikki and we started working together about 5 months prior to her falling pregnant with her second baby. In Nikki’s first pregnancy she had a condition known as Symphysis P***s dysfunction (SPD) or otherwise known more broadly as pelvic girdle pain. For anyone who has experienced this condition knows that it can be very debilitating if not managed. Nikki was told that it was likely her SPD would return in this pregnancy and probably be worse. 😢 She was extremely worried - but I’m very happy to say that working together twice a week every week we were able to keep her symptoms to a manageable level the whole way through (even with an unexpected fall down the stairs! 😅). Nik trained with me right up until the week of her planned C-section and was back at 10 weeks PP to begin her post partum recovery keen as anything! Exercising throughout pregnancy is one of the best things you can do to maximise your natural healing post birth and be able to hit the ground running sooner 🌟🙌🏼
Some of Nikki’s words in her first message to me post partum: “I’m confident to say we kicked SPD in the butt! Georgia has given me the confidence to have a second baby and reduced my pain levels during pregnancy to a level I never imagined them getting down to. My experience was priceless” 🥰
This is what makes my job so rewarding and makes me excited to come to work everyday! The women I work with daily are so strong (mentally and physically) and are so incredible as they bring new life into the world 💪🤱🏼
If you or someone you know is experiencing any pain including SPD during pregnancy, please tell them to reach out! There is help available! 🙏🏼

Merry Christmas from our Pear 🍐 family! 🥰 What a year 2021 has been…
We had our work Christmas party last weekend and it was such a lovely morning with the girls. Feeling super grateful to work for such an amazing clinic that I am so proud of. What an incredible opportunity I was given in Feb this year 🥰
Reminder to always seek out careers and/or workplaces that fuel your passions and excite you to come to work everyday (they do exist! 😉). Also important to be in a place that motivates you to learn and continue developing your skills which and all the geniuses that work there have done for me! 🤓
I can honestly say that I am so excited and passionate in my role as an Exercise Physiologist and it seems to only be growing! 💪 Helping others and seeing my clients succeed really gives me so much joy so Thankyou for all your hard work and positivity!

*Hip mobility challenge from 🍐 *
What’s your hip mobility like? 🤔
Your hips handle a high level of demand every single day - walking, sitting, squatting, running. There’s even more demand on our hips during pregnancy and running around after little ones! 🤱🏼
Hip mobility is a umbrella term that looks at the active range of motion of more than 15 muscles in your hip area (including pelvic floor)!
Hip mobility and particularly strength is something that I program to my clients (and myself) on a daily basis! If you’ve got any hip, knee, or lower back issues then definitely try and include some of these exercises into your weekly program and see if it helps! 🙏🏼
