This week, one of our girls decided the group needed stickers and took it upon herself to teach everyone how to make them.

It quickly turned into a collaborative, creative space where everyone could design, experiment and support each other. Activities like this are a great way to build confidence, creativity and social connection in a relaxed setting.

By the end, we had a serious collection of custom stickers and a lot of very proud designers 🎨✨

Most people see a whiteboard covered in drawings.

We see concentration. Creativity. Problem-solving. Confidence.

We see young people learning that not everything has to be perfect to be an accomplishment.

The lines might not match. The fish might look a little wonky.

But growth often looks that way too.

A perfect fish isn’t the goal.

Having a go, laughing with peers, making mistakes, and continuing anyway is. đź’ś

One of the activities from our Saturday social group involved everyone collaborating on a shared drawing. Each person added their own coloured line before passing it on. The result was a fun, slightly “mishmashed” jug that had everyone laughing as it came together. What stood out in our discussion afterwards was how each person had a different angle of the jug, yet the final image was still clearly a jug. A simple activity showing how different perspectives can still lead to the same outcome.

Being in the community isn’t always straightforward.

Something as simple as ordering at a café, waiting in line, or being in a busy space can be overwhelming, especially when there’s noise, people, and a lot happening at once.

We see it all the time.

Hesitation.
Uncertainty.
Wanting to do it but not knowing how to handle it in the moment.

That’s why we don’t just “take people out.”

We stay alongside them through those moments, prompting when needed, giving them time, breaking things down, and helping them work through it instead of avoiding it.

Over time, those situations become more familiar.
Less overwhelming.
More manageable.

That’s where confidence actually starts to build.

A mix of creativity, conversation, and everyone getting involved in their own way.

Some are focused on what they’re making, some are chatting, others are just enjoying being part of it, and it all works.

Nothing forced, just a relaxed space where they can engage at their own pace and feel comfortable.
