Vitamin D3 is an essential vitamin that your skin produces in response to sunlight exposure, it can also be consumed through a variety of animal and plant-sourced foods.
Vitamin D3 supports the immune system to protect you from environmental and seasonal threats, however, due to increased concerns over sun exposure, there has been an increase in vitamin D3 deficiency, which affects immune function.
Vitamin D3 is also known to support bone health and can also support cognitive health. Serotonin, a hormone related to a healthy mood also increases when you are exposed to sunlight
There is also evidence to suggest that Vitamin D can regulate gastrointestinal inflammation, A deficiency in vitamin D may lead to dysbiosis of the gut microbiome with studies showing that individuals with higher Vitamin D levels have a lower incidence of Irritable Bowel Disorders, particularly Crohn’s disease.

Good sources of D3,
Oily fish, such as Salmon, Tuna and Sardines
Egg Yolks
Mushrooms
Cheese, such as Swiss, Goat and Ricotta
Vegetarian/vegan options
you may need to look to foods fortified with D3 such as tofu, Plant milks and Orange juice

Bone broth is simple, it’s timeless, it’s packed with nutrients, easy to digest, rich in flavour, and loaded with restorative amino acids and is easier to make than you might think.

Studies show that many of the amino acids in bone broth (such as cystine, histidine, and glycine) reduce inflammation, and L-glutamine specifically reduces gut inflammation.

Gelatine also found in bone broth is fantastic for healing the gut by repairing the intestinal lining and reducing inflammation caused by gut-related disease and food sensitivities

Bone broth is also a powerful detoxifier for several reasons. It helps the digestive system expel waste more efficiently whilst the amino acid Glycine stimulates the production of glutathione, (known as the body’s master antioxidant) which protects the liver and is also needed for the liver’s detoxification process (phase II) which is important for preventing toxin build up. Glycine is also associated with relaxation, and decreased anxiety.

The Gelatine in Bone broth Helps normalise stomach acid, which is useful for colitis, celiac disease, ulcers, and other inflammatory gut conditions and can also help improve sleep.

So next time you find yourself reaching for a cup of tea or coffee why not switch to a delicious cup of broth instead

Our immune system develops when under threat. Therefore if at the first sign of infection we turn to antibiotics or some form of injectable we deprive the body of its innate ability to heal and in turn deprive our immune system the chance of becoming naturally stronger. It would be far more beneficial to support and strengthen your system so that in the event that you do become unwell you will be able to recover with greater ease.

And if you do feel unwell simply rest, eat beautiful fresh foods or comforting broths, drink plenary of clean filtered water, reduce worry and breath deeply

All will be well
Much love Ally ❤️🌱
