Pelvic floor stretches to help with pelvic pain, constipation, endo-related pain & pain with s*x 🤍🌸✨

If you’re struggling with pelvic tension, pelvic pain, constipation, endometriosis-related pain or pain with intimacy, gentle pelvic floor relaxation stretches may help calm the system, reduce tension and help your body feel a little more supported 🌿🫶🏼💫

A few gentle reminders while trying these: 💕
✨ Focus on slow, deep breathing and try to relax as much as possible 😮‍💨🌸 (jaw, tummy, shoulders and pelvic floor included 🤍)
✨ Choose the stretch that feels the most comfortable for you 🌷 — not every stretch works for everybody, and that’s okay 🫶🏼
✨ Gentle and comfortable is the goal 🌙💛 — no forcing, pushing or stretching into pain 🚫

Your body is unique and different things work for different people 🌸 Listen to what feels supportive, safe and calming for your body 🤍✨

If symptoms persist, pain feels significant or you’re not sure what’s going on, a pelvic floor physio can help guide you 🌿💕

💾 Save this for later 🤍✨

✨ Pregnant mamas — give these exercises a try 🤰🩷 ✨

Looking for some gentle strengthening exercises? These can help support the hips, glutes and pelvic floor during pregnancy 💪🌸

🤍 Clam Shells
Aim for around 20 reps or until fatigue. You can add a TheraBand around the knees for extra challenge (or around the ankles/top ankle if appropriate). Try to keep your hips stacked, gently draw up through the pelvic floor as you open and close the knee, and remember to take deep breaths 🫶

🤍 Clam Kick-Outs
Again, aim for around 20 reps or fatigue. Focus on control, breathing and keeping the pelvis stable ✨

🤍 Clams in 90 Degrees
A great variation to challenge the hips and pelvic support muscles 💕

✅ Relax through the neck and shoulders
✅ Focus on slow, controlled movement
✅ Keep breathing deeply 🌿

Save this for later & share with your mama friends 👯‍♀️💗

⚠️ Always check with your own pelvic floor physio and doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially during pregnancy, to ensure it’s right for you.

💩 Chronic constipation is more common than many people realise — and you do NOT have to struggle alone 🤍

In this video, Jules ✨ our superstar pelvic floor physio ✨ shares some helpful tools and tips to support bowel emptying, especially if you’re struggling with chronic constipation.

Some simple strategies that may help include:
▫️ Leaning forward when sitting on the toilet
▫️ Using a footstool 🚽
▫️ Focusing on relaxing and letting your pelvic floor go
▫️ Not ignoring the urge to open your bowels
▫️ Allowing yourself time and avoiding straining 🤍

Persistent constipation can sometimes be linked with other underlying conditions or “red flags,” so it’s important to chat with your doctor if symptoms continue.

Some contributing factors may include:
🌼 Endometriosis
🌼 Post-surgical changes
🌼 Pelvic floor dysfunction
🌼 Autoimmune or other medical conditions

Our team is here to support you with personalised assessment and treatment options 🤍

📍Contact Circle of Life Physio for more support and guidance. You don’t have to navigate this alone ✨

Check on your pregnant friends… 🤰😂🤍 they’re probably nesting 🪺 and doing way more than they should be 🧺🧹💦

Pregnancy (and honestly, being a woman in general) is wild 🌪️💫 One minute you feel like you can conquer the world 💪🔥, the next your body’s like “absolutely not today” 😅🫠

We’re often told as women that we can do anything — and yes, we absolutely can ✨👑But just because we can, doesn’t always mean we should 🤍💭 Food for thought.

As pelvic floor physios looking after women for over 15 years, we understand 🤍 We advocate for and empower women to be and do anything 🙌✨But let’s also be real — we need to encourage each other to rest 💤🛌, slow down 🧘‍♀️🌿, and nurture our bodies through all the different stages of life 🤍🌸

Our bodies go through so many changes — physically, hormonally, emotionally… it’s a lot 🌀💗

So here’s your reminder to be kind to yourself 🤍✨

To all women, in every season of life — respect 🙌💖

💩🚨 DON’T HOLD YOUR POO 🚨💩

Sarah, our incredible pelvic floor physio and amazing mum of two 👶👶, shares one of her TOP tips for everyone:

👉 Respond to the urge to go!

When your body tells you it’s time to empty your bowels 🚽 — listen to it 👂✨
Don’t delay, don’t ignore it ❌

Holding on can lead to:
⚡ Constipation
⚡ Hemorrhoids
⚡ Pelvic pain flare-ups
⚡ Worsening symptoms for conditions like endometriosis

🤰 This is especially important during pregnancy and in the early postnatal period 🤱
Your body is healing — no matter how you gave birth 💛

🚫 One of the worst things you can do?
Straining on a healing body or wound 😣

✨ Be kind to your body
✨ Go when you need to
✨ Support your pelvic floor

Your body is always communicating with you — trust it 💫💛

💛 You can see Sarah for a personalised assessment and treatment approach
— no matter your stage of life ✨

Whether it’s:
🤰 Pregnancy
🌸 Perimenopause
🌺 Menopause
⚡ Pelvic pain
💧 Incontinence
🌿 Prolapse symptoms

Thank you to our beautiful patients for all your kind messages and for checking in on us as we step into this new chapter with our clinics 🤍✨

Our wonderful team, Jules and Sarah, have thriving across Belmont, Morningside, and Stafford Heights 🌿🏥💫

Behind the scenes, Saba has been working hard to keep everything running smoothly 💻✨ While she’s in the final stages of third trimester pregnancy and not seeing patients in person (baby arriving very soon 👶🤍), there’s been a lot happening from home 🏡💛

A little real talk from Saba & perhaps controversial opinions … 🤍
With a history of endometriosis 🌸 I thought my tolerance for the challenges that can come with pregnancy would be higher — but it’s been humbling in ways I didn’t expect ✨

We are so lucky to support so many women through pregnancy 🤰🤍 and going through it myself has deepened my respect for this journey even more 🙏✨

I feel incredibly grateful to be pregnant 🤍🌿 but like many women, I’ve felt the physical and emotional changes deeply — fatigue, nausea, aches, and all the unknowns 🤍

Our job is to empower women to keep moving & not see pregnancy as an illness or symptom. But hello- for many , pregnancy comes with many serious & challenging symptoms- let’s be honest and not sugar coat it 💛

And the mum guilt is already there… feeling like I haven’t done enough or prepared enough for our little one arriving soon 👶📚✨

I’m trying to practice what I preach — to slow down, rest more, accept my changing body, and remember I’m creating life 🤍🫶
We need to be kinder to ourselves as women 💛

I’m also taking my doctor’s advice and allowing more space for rest 🛌✨ and the baby books… we’ll see how we go 😅📚

If you’re feeling this way too — you are not alone 🤍✨

Even after 16 years as a physio supporting women through pregnancy, experiencing it myself has been one of the most humbling journeys 🤍✨

Welcome back, Sarah 🤍

After welcoming her beautiful baby girl into the world, we are so excited to have Sarah back from maternity leave!

For those of you who haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting her, Sarah has been part of the Circle of Life Physio family for about three years and is truly an asset to our team. She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, all while being an incredible mum of two ✨

With her strong background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, she’s also fantastic at managing those everyday niggles and injuries, and has a special interest in helping our elderly community with strength, balance, and falls prevention.

Sarah will be consulting from our Stafford Heights clinic (Nurture Gynaecology) on Thursdays, as well as our Belmont clinic (Belmont General Practice Clinic) on Tuesdays 📍

We are so excited to have you back, Sarah — and we know your patients are too!
