Here is our purpose:

Oral disease is almost entirely preventable, yet it remains one of the most common and inequitably distributed chronic conditions in Australia — concentrated among young children, school communities, people with disability, and older adults who fall outside conventional dental service models.

Oral Health Home is a social enterprise established to close that gap: we bring preventive oral health care directly into these community settings, prioritising reach and prevention over profit, and reinvesting our surplus to serve more of the people who need it.

For many children role play & role reversal can be such a powerful way to introduce oral health experiences. This kind of child-led play can help make unfamiliar equipment sounds & sensations feel less intimidating. It gives them time to explore, ask questions & build familiarity without pressure or expectation. Most importantly, it allows the child to lead the interaction & experience a sense of control. It builds trust before treatment, curiosity before compliance & play before pressure 💙 Because positive oral health experiences can start long before a child is ready to sit in the dental chair. 🦷✨ 🪥🔦

This doesn’t look like much but we take oral health care to where our community is 🦷🩵 This week Carol joined the young mums & bubs group at Micah Springhill , bringing oral health care & support directly into a space where families already feel comfortable, connected & welcome.

We love opportunities like this because accessible care doesn’t always happen in a clinic. Sometimes it happens outdoors, around a table, on a picnic rug or wherever our community happens to gather.

For Oral Health Home, being portable, flexible & ready for just about any scenario is an important part of what we do. We pack up our resources, bring the care with us & adapt to the people and the environment in front of us. Because sometimes improving access to oral health care simply means meeting people where they are. 🦷💙
