As a Kinesiologist, I work a lot with the Amygdala. The Amygdala is in the Limbic system and is responsible for how we perceive and respond to threats in our environment. Its main function is to regulate our emotions, such as fear, anger and sadness but it’s also responsible for giving meaning to our memories, reward processing and decision making.

When the Amygdala is activated by perceived stress, it will send messages to other parts of the body to prepare it to run or fight. In situations of excessive stress, the frontal lobe will step in to ensure we respond in a reasonable manner. If the stressful situation causes strong feelings like fear, anxiety or aggression, this can result in illogical or overreactive behaviours. This will lead to a type of high jacking where the Amygdala overrides the frontal lobe.

In Kinesiology balancing the Amygdala is one of the many ways I can help people to feel less reactive in stressful situations. Using muscle testing I use a combination of meridian and acupressure stimulation, emotional stress release techniques, neurolymphatic and neurovascular stimulation, sound therapy, chakra balancing, aura alignment and flower essences to bring the body systems bank into homeostasis.

Did you know in Iridology, we can see a person’s predispositions for illness? These are also what we call nurture points. For example, someone with blue eyes would be considered as having Lymphatic eyes. Blue eyes have tendencies toward childhood ear, nose and throat complaints and seasonal or food allergies. They are more likely to have overactive lymphatic systems, often with symptoms of swollen glands. Commonly you’ll see upper respiratory weakness such as asthma, bronchitis and sinusitis. Hyperacidity resulting in arthritis and rheumatics can present in the older blue-eyed population. These conditions are more likely to present in people who had parents with these conditions and also if their diet and lifestyle are conducive to increased loads of acid production in the body.

The other very cool thing about Iridology is, by looking at the markings in the eyes we can describe a person’s emotional characteristics. This can help us to see how people choose the lifestyles that they do. This can also help us as coaches see where someone might need more support in life.

An example of this is seen in the two irises below. In the first Iris photo there is a very constricted collarette around the pupil which indicates someone that tends to be more introverted and prone to self-sabotage. They like to be in control but are great people to share your secrets with as they value discretion.

The second iris has a squared collarette. From this picture we know that this person has tendencies toward perfectionism. They can have strong insecurities about how they fit in to their family or circle of close friends. These people thrive on verbal assurances of love.

All the different markings in the eyes tell a story about that person and their history, approximately 3 generations back. This can help us guide a person to make the right lifestyle changes to help them live more optimally.
