PUAWER005 – OPERATE AS PART OF AN EMERGENCY CONTROL
ORGANISATION (FIRE WARDEN)

COURSE SUMMARY
This nationally approved and accredited course will equip your personnel with the skills and knowledge
required to act as a Fire Warden during an emergency. By selecting an appropriate number of wardens
and conducting regular warden training, your organisation will ensure that your personnel are ready to
deal with any workplace emergency.
This course is as per the Australian Standards in accordance with the requirements of AS 1851-2005
Section 19 Emergency Evacuation Procedures and AS3745-2010 and integrate this with the Emergency
Plans and Procedures of the business.
During the warden training course, we will cover the duties of wardens during emergencies such as:
Fires, Bomb threats, Chemical Incidents, Armed Holdups and many more. Warden training is only
conducted by experienced emergency services personnel. Our warden trainers have responded to real
emergencies as emergency services officers and can walk you through the requirements of acting as a
fire warden.
Fire Warden Training is conducted on site.

COURSE CONTENT
This course is designed to be tailored to meet the needs of the client and company’s operation.
The course is composed of five sections:
• Introduction to the Legislation and Australian Standards
• Evacuation Procedures
• Introduction to Portable Fire Extinguishers
• Evacuation Exercise

TOPICS INCLUDE:
• Reasons for evacuation
• Basic fire prevention
• Bomb threat procedures
• Evacuation procedures (with practical work)
• Raising the fire alarm
• A debriefing session

INCLUSIONS
• A4 Certificate

QUALIFICATION
Upon successful completion a Certificate will be issued for PUAWER005 – Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation

RECERTIFICATION
Participants are required to re-certify every 2 years from their completion date to maintain currency.

PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this unit.
*Please note that participants are required to wear clothing appropriate for the workplace.

HLTAID009 - CPR
HLTAID012 – PROVIDE FIRST AID RESPONSE IN AN EDUCATION AND CARE SETTING

Course Summary:
This course is designed for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylaxis emergencies.
This course incorporates the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.
This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.

Course Content:
• Assessing an emergency situation
• Infection control
• Airway and breathing management, including choking
• Head, chest and abdominal injuries
• Bleeding, burns and electric shock
• Seizures and shock
• Medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes and convulsions
• Risk management for asthma and anaphylaxis
• Anaphylaxis emergency management
• Asthma emergency management
• Allergic reactions
• Eye and soft tissue injuries
• Bites and stings
• First Aid for minor wounds
• Near drowning
• Hyperthermia and hypothermia
• Fractures, breaks and spinal injuries
• Poisoning and toxic substances
• Performing CPR
• Understanding and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Reporting requirements in education and children’s services
• General WH&S and legal issues

Delivery:
This course is face to face training.

Inclusions:
• First Aid Manual
• All training resources (manikins, face shields, bandages, gloves, AED etc)
• A4 Certificate

Qualification:
A Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009 - CPR
HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting will be issued to all successful participants.

Recertification:
Participants are required to recertify CPR every 1 year and First Aid every 3 years from their completion date to maintain currency.

Prerequisites:
Participants must be aged 14 years or older
*Please note that it is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

RIIWHS204E - WORK SAFELY AT HEIGHTS

Summary:
This nationally accredited one-day Work Safely at Heights training course is designed for workers who are required to work at heights. If an employer has personnel working where they can fall from one height to another and there is risk of injury, then a provision must be made to prevent falls. Appropriate equipment must be made available and appropriate training must be given under the National Workplace Health and Safety Act and in particular, the National Code Of Practice for Managing Risks of Falls at the Workplace.
This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge to work safely at heights. This course will enable you to comply with current WHS Legislation. This course covers risk assessment, the right selection and correct use of equipment, rigging and anchor systems, fall restraint, work positioning and fall arrest systems.
Trainees are trained how to correctly select height safety equipment and how to apply it.
Our Training is conducted by experienced Emergency Services personnel, who have the knowledge and experience to walk you through the requirements to operate confined space equipment safely. We specialise in tailoring training scenarios to your workplace needs

Course Content:
• Training conducted by experienced Height Safety Specialist

No balcony edge protection. No excuses.

During a recent compliance program in the Eastern Suburbs, our inspectors identified multiple residential home construction projects with no fall protection in place for the balcony areas.

Here's 3 things to remember:

✅ Eliminate the risk of falls so far as is reasonably practicable.

✅ Install appropriate edge protection before scaffold removal.

✅ Be aware that penalty notices of up to $8,750 may apply.

These units describe the skills and knowledge required to trim and cut felled trees with a chainsaw and maintain & complete operator maintenance.
These units apply to individuals who trim and cut felled trees as part of arboriculture, forestry, agriculture, conservation and land management, local government, emergency services and other government agency operations. With the exception of minor forest produce, these units do not apply to commercial harvesting operations.

All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, according to state/territory health and safety regulations, legislation, standards and industry codes of practice that apply to the workplace.

HLTAID015 – PROVIDE ADVANCED RESUSCITATION AND OXYGEN THERAPY

COURSE SUMMARY
HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation and oxygen therapy is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and first aid code of practice and applies to those who may be required to provide first aid, CPR and oxygen in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

Simulated real-life situations will be used to develop the skills and knowledge for using and maintaining specialised equipment for the provision of first aid, resuscitation, and oxygen therapy.

Instruction on first aid and CPR will be provided, as well as treatments specific to advanced conditions, such as inserting an appropriate basic airway adjunct, using tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for life-threatening bleeding, and administering oxygen safely at the correct flow rate.

The course covers recording casualty condition, conveying incident details, completing workplace incident documentation, and debriefing for recognising areas for improvement, psychological impacts, and seeking help as required.
