We had an amazing time today at the careers expo held at Wodonga Senior Secondary College where we met the most incredible students, not only from Senior but from both campuses of Wodonga Middle Years.

We were incredibly impressed with all the young people we met today and surprised just how passionate many of them were about working in the field of mental health.

I even bumped into a friend and colleague Jess from UMFC doing a great job sharing the powerful impact we can have working in the social and community sectors.

Well done to the team and the students today, you should all be so proud of yourselves!

(And to the students who made all the delicious food and amazing coffees, a very big thank you from us all!!)

As we begin Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, strength, and individuality of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Every person deserves to feel seen, safe, respected, and supported exactly as they are.

Understanding the diversity of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community helps create more inclusive, compassionate, and affirming spaces for everyone.

At Insight Therapies, we believe in creating a space where people can explore their identity, feel heard without judgment, and know they belong.

This guide is a small step toward learning, understanding, and celebrating the diversity that makes each person unique.

Some people just fit right in from day one, and two years later, we genuinely can’t imagine Insight without them. 💛

This week, we’re celebrating Sav’s 2-year anniversary with Insight Therapies, and what a two years it has been.

Sav brings warmth, humour, heart, and an energy that is hard to miss. If you spend any time near her sessions, chances are you’ll hear laughter. Lots of it. Because one thing Sav does beautifully is use fun, connection, and genuine joy to help make a real difference in people’s lives.

She has a way of helping young people feel safe, understood, and genuinely accepted, often building connection in ways that feel natural, playful, and deeply meaningful. The kind of connection that has young people asking, “When do I get to come back?”

If you’ve ever wandered through Insight and spotted someone in the garden building, creating, walking, talking, kicking a ball, or simply sitting alongside a young person outdoors, chances are it was Sav. She pioneered our use of outdoor spaces at the practice and truly embodies meeting people where they are, adapting with curiosity, flexibility, and care to what each person needs in the moment.

Sav has an incredible ability to stay alongside young people through big feelings, uncertainty, and tough moments, bringing steadiness, creativity, humour, and warmth in ways that help people feel safe enough to connect, trust, grow, and sometimes even laugh in the middle of hard things.

Beyond her incredible work with clients, Sav brings authenticity, thoughtful conversations, endless laughs, and a sense of fun to our whole team. She reminds us often that healing, growth, and hard work do not always have to feel heavy.

Insight is a better place because Sav is part of it, and we are so grateful for the care, wisdom, flexibility, laughter, and joy she brings every single day.

Happy 2 years, Sav. We are so lucky to have you and can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings 💛

Help us celebrate Sav and show her some love in the comments!

There’s something incredibly special about the comfort a therapy dog can bring.

Our therapy dogs regularly visit Ramsay Health Care in Albury offering gentle companionship, calm moments, and plenty of smiles to patients, families, and staff.
In spaces that can feel overwhelming, these visits create moments of connection, warmth, and joy.

Whether it’s a quiet cuddle, a wagging tail, or simply having a comforting presence nearby.

We are so grateful to share this work and to witness the meaningful impact these beautiful dogs have on so many people each visit.

Thank you to the patients and staff at Ramsey Health for welcoming our therapy dogs so warmly into your space.

Today is National Sorry Day.

Held each year on 26 May, National Sorry Day marks the anniversary of the Bringing Them Home report and is a day of remembrance, reflection, healing, and truth-telling.

It is a time to acknowledge the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations, and to recognise the profound grief, loss, trauma, and lasting impacts caused by past government policies that forcibly removed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities, culture, and Country.

At Insight Therapies, we recognise the importance of listening, learning, and reflecting on the truths of our shared history. We honour the strength, stories, and continuing resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and acknowledge the importance of meaningful action, understanding, and connection in supporting healing.

Today, we invite our community to pause, reflect, listen to First Nations voices, and continue learning.

We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, cultures, and Elders past and present.

There’s a tiny duck mystery happening in our waiting room…

No one knows who placed the very first duck in a sneaky little hiding spot. But somehow, more keep appearing. On artwork. In plants. Around corners. Watching us from shelves like tiny yellow supervisors.

At this point, several of our young clients have joined the mission, and the ducks have officially taken over.

Every week we discover new hiding spots, and every single one brings a little moment of joy and laughter to our day.

So if you visit us soon… keep your eyes peeled.

You never know where a duck might be hiding next.

Today our team came together to celebrate IDAHOBIT Day - the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia.

IDAHOBIT is an important day that raises awareness of the discrimination still experienced by LGBTQIA+ communities across the world, while also celebrating diversity, inclusion, safety, and the right for every person to be exactly who they are.

At Insight Therapies, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted, respected, and supported - not only within therapy, but within the wider community as well.

Today was filled with bright colours, connection, laughter, learning, and meaningful conversations as our team took time to celebrate inclusion, reflect, and show our support for LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities.

For many LGBTQIA+ people, feeling truly safe to be seen, heard, and accepted can have a powerful impact on mental health, wellbeing, and sense of belonging.

Inclusive spaces, supportive relationships, and affirming conversations matter more than many people realize.

They can reduce isolation, strengthen connection, and remind people that they do not have to hide who they are to be worthy of support and care.

We know there is still work to do, and days like IDAHOBIT are an important reminder that inclusion is not just about celebration — it is about continuing to listen, learn, advocate, and create communities where everyone can feel safe to exist as themselves.

We are proud to continue creating a space where people are welcomed, affirmed, and valued for who they are.

Thank you so much to All Occasions Sweets n Treats for our wonderful cupcakes.
