PROFILE BALANCING ✨

It’s not about changing your features — it’s about helping them work together.

When assessing a profile, I’m looking at the relationship between the lips, chin, nose and jawline — not just one area on its own.

In this example, HA dermal filler was used strategically in the lips and chin to improve proportion and create a more harmonious side profile.

Why the chin? 👇
Chin projection can have a surprisingly big impact on how we perceive the entire profile. Supporting the chin can help:

• Improve facial proportions
• Create better balance between the lips, nose & chin
• Add definition to the lower face

✨ STATIC LINES vs. DYNAMIC LINES — what’s the difference?

Not every line on the face is the same, and understanding why a line is there helps us understand how it may be treated.

Dynamic lines appear with facial movement — smiling, frowning, squinting or raising the brows. When the muscles relax, these lines often soften or disappear.

Static lines remain visible even when the face is completely relaxed. Over time, repeated facial movement combined with natural changes in collagen, elastin and skin quality can cause dynamic lines to become more permanently etched into the skin.

💉 This is also why treatment isn’t always simply about “getting rid of wrinkles.” The goal is to assess muscle movement, skin quality and the type of line present, then discuss which treatment options — if any — may be appropriate.

The answer is… you might! Bruising is a normal possibility anytime a needle is used — our faces have thousands of tiny blood vessels.

As injectors, we use techniques to help minimize bruising, including good lighting and visualization, careful injection technique, appropriate pressure and ice when indicated. But even with every precaution, bruising can still happen.

You can help too! 💕 Before your appointment, consider avoiding alcohol and non-essential anti-inflammatory medications/supplements that may increase bruising, when medically appropriate. Never stop prescribed medication without speaking with your healthcare provider.

✨ Have a wedding, vacation or major event? Schedule your injections 2–3 weeks beforehand to give any bruising or swelling plenty of time to settle.
