๐ด Laminitis Case โ Tamworth Equine Veterinary Centre
This horse arrived at Tamworth Equine Veterinary Centre with ongoing lameness after being shod for six weeks.
Clinical examination and X-rays revealed obvious signs of laminitis, along with mechanical issues affecting both the front and hind feet.
A stall-side blood test was performed to assess the horseโs insulin level. The result reached 200โthe maximum reading of the machineโmeaning the actual level may have been even higher.
Working alongside Dr Matt Kelly and the team the horse received a derotational trim. Ultimate Boots were applied to the front feet with dental impression material, while putty pads were applied to the hind feet to provide additional support and comfort.
If you are unsure about your horseโs soundness, suspect laminitis, or simply have a gut feeling that something isnโt right, donโt wait. For all my northern nsw followers contact the team at Tamworth Equine Veterinary Centre.
