10 years of Urban Skin. Where do I even begin? 🤎

When I first started Urban, I don’t think I could have imagined just how much this little business would grow, how much it would teach me or how many incredible people it would bring into my life.

Looking back, there have been so many moments of growth, challenges, changes and milestones worth celebrating. And while I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, I think I’m even more grateful for everything I’ve learnt along the way.

To my beautiful team, our clients, past and present, and everyone who has been part of Urban’s story in some way, thank you. You’ve all played a part in making these 10 years so special.

Here’s to 10 years of learning, growing and doing what I love. And hopefully many more to come.

10 YEARS OF URBAN SKIN 🤎

This year, we wanted to celebrate a little differently.

Instead of keeping our birthday celebrations to one VIP event, we wanted to give something back to every single client who has been part of Urban Skin over the last 10 years.

The ones who have been with us from the very beginning and have seen every version of Urban. The ones who have only recently found us. The regulars, the once-in-a-while visitors, and everyone in between.

Without you, we simply wouldn’t be here today.

So to celebrate 10 years, we’ll be running birthday offers throughout the entire month of October 🎉

We never enjoy having to enforce our cancellation policy, but as a small business, it’s an important protection for our team and the time we set aside exclusively for each client.

A little reminder of how our policy works:

• Appointment reminders are sent via text 48 hours before your booking
• Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice incur a 20% late cancellation fee
• No-shows incur a 50% fee

Your appointment time is reserved just for you, and late cancellations can often leave us without enough time to offer that space to someone else.

We’ll always do our best to be understanding where we can — we just ask that you give us as much notice as possible if your plans change. 🤎

After having my third baby, I decided this year was the time to focus on my skin again and get back to feeling good about myself 🤍

Pigmentation was my biggest concern, so while I was breastfeeding we focused on hydration, barrier support and monthly skin needling to keep improving my skin until I was able to treat the pigmentation more directly.

Once I finished breastfeeding, we did a Cosmelan treatment and the difference has been huge. Obviously the pigmentation has improved but I’ve also noticed such a big change in my skin texture and overall skin quality.

I’ve had Cosmelan before (during COVID) and my pigmentation did eventually return because pregnancy was a big trigger for me. That’s something I’m always really honest about — we can treat pigmentation, but if the trigger is still there, it can come back.

Would I still do it again? Absolutely. If your triggers are under control, or you’re wanting a big improvement before a special occasion like a wedding, I genuinely think it’s so worth it.

The way we speak about our skin matters. 🤍

So much of the language around skin is centred on fixing, fighting, reversing or hiding — when really, our skin is constantly changing, responding and carrying us through every stage of life.

Breakouts happen. Texture is normal. Skin ages. Some days it looks and feels different to others.

Caring for your skin doesn’t have to come from a place of criticism. It can simply be about understanding it, supporting it and giving it what it needs.

A little reminder from us to be kinder to the skin you’re in 🤎
