Sore knee? Rolled ankle? Shoulder giving you grief? Start there.
Our new Joint Vision website is now live.
We’ve rebuilt it around a simple idea: when something hurts, you shouldn’t need to know which specialist or service you need before you ask for help.
Start with the problem you recognise and we’ll help you find the right next step.
That might be one of our orthopaedic specialists, allied health, the Fracture & Injury Clinic, or simply some guidance from our Patient Services team.
Your care. One team. One place.

Take a look and find the right place to start:

What happens when you stop seeing your professional lane as a boundary?

During her presentation at Illawarra Women in Business last week, Dr Meghan Dares has reflected on the journey that has taken her from orthopaedic surgeon to co-founder of Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group, and into research, digital health, new models of care and preventative health.

At the centre of it all is a simple question: when you can see a problem that isn’t being solved well, what are you prepared to do about it?

In our latest article, Meg shares some of the thinking behind Joint Vision’s multidisciplinary model and why some of the best ideas start just outside the lane you thought you were meant to stay in.

Great to see Dr Meghan Dares sharing her story with the Women in Business community today.
Meg spoke about the journey from orthopaedic surgery into building Joint Vision, research, digital health, new models of care and preventative health.
One of the strongest themes from the discussion was the importance of being willing to step outside your usual professional lane when you see a problem that needs solving.
Thanks to IWIB for having Meg along, and to those who joined us today.
More to come from the conversation over the next few days.

Keyhole foot and ankle surgery isn’t just for bunions.
Minimally invasive techniques can now be used to treat a much broader range of foot and ankle problems, including sports injuries, ankle impingement, cartilage damage and some forms of arthritis.
Joint Vision Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Sheraz Anjum explains how keyhole foot and ankle surgery works, when it may be an option and why early movement can be such an important part of recovery.
And importantly, why keyhole surgery isn’t always the answer.

We loved seeing this story from Gerringong on TV yesterday morning.
Keith is 11. His training mate Chippy is 84. They met at their local gym and, despite the 73 years between them, have become great mates who help keep each other moving.
They appeared on the Today Show as part of the Million Moves Challenge, encouraging Australians to get moving over the next 21 days.
And their story struck a chord with us at Joint Vision.
Dr Meghan Dares recently took to the TEDx stage to talk about something we believe deeply: movement matters at every age.
It doesn't have to mean running marathons or lifting enormous weights. It's about continuing to move, finding something you enjoy and, perhaps most importantly, having people around you who encourage you to keep going.
As Chippy put it, he hopes he inspires Keith as much as Keith inspires him.
At 11 and 84, these two might just be the best demonstration of that message we've seen.
Great stuff, Keith and Chippy ... and fantastic to see this story coming out of Gerringong. 👏

For many people, the idea of hip or knee replacement still brings to mind long hospital stays and a slow recovery.
But modern joint replacement can look very different.
Joint Vision Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Anil Goudar explains how improved surgical techniques, better planning, earlier movement and more effective pain management are helping patients recover faster and return to everyday life with greater confidence.
He also answers some of the questions patients often have before surgery, including how long recovery can take and whether a replacement joint can ever feel “normal”.

“If your movement changes, ask why.”
That’s one of the key messages Dr Meghan Dares shared with Nick Rheinberger on ABC Illawarra Mornings this week.
Following the incredible response to Meg’s TEDx talk, the conversation turned to something that affects all of us as we get older:
How do we protect our ability to keep moving, participating and living independently?
Because movement isn’t just about exercise.
It’s walking with friends.
Playing with the grandkids.
Travelling.
Dancing.
Doing the things that make life feel like life.

Thanks to Nick and ABC Illawarra for helping keep this important conversation going.

A rare sighting of the Joint Vision specialist team outside the clinic… and nowhere near an operating theatre.

Dr Jasan Dannaway (upper limb), Dr Sheraz Anjum (foot and ankle), Dr Anil Goudar (hip and knee), Dr Meghan Dares (foot and ankle), and CEO Wynter Dares.

Between them, there’s not much of the musculoskeletal system left uncovered.

Different subspecialties, one team, and apparently a shared clinical interest in curry and naan.

We’re incredibly proud of the expertise across Joint Vision, but even more proud of the way this team works together for our patients.

Great food, plenty of laughs, and certainly a team to be proud of.

🏀 What a great night at The Snakepit.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to our first Junior Athlete Education Night with Basketball Illawarra.

It was fantastic to see so many young basketballers getting involved with our physio, osteo and exercise physiology teams and then hitting the court with Matt Mims for the shooting clinic.

Most importantly, thanks to all the parents who brought their kids along. We know weeknights are busy, particularly when you're already juggling training, games, school and everything else that comes with junior sport. We really appreciated the turnout and the way everyone got involved.

Thanks also to Matt, Basketball Illawarra and the Joint Vision team for making it happen.

We had a lot of fun putting this one together ... and judging by the response, we might have to do it again.

🎥 Here's a look back at the night.

🏀 NOW THAT'S A TEAM PHOTO!
What a turnout for our first Joint Vision Junior Athlete Education Night at The Snakepit!
It was exactly the kind of evening we hoped it would be, young basketballers and their families getting hands-on with our physio, osteo and exercise physiology teams, learning about injury prevention, movement and performance… before Matt Mims took over the court for a brilliant shooting clinic.
Plenty of learning. Plenty of laughs. And a LOT of basketball. 🏀
A huge thank you to Basketball Illawarra, Matt, the entire Joint Vision team and, most importantly, every young player and parent who came along and made the night such a success.
And congratulations to our major prize winner Izaac, who scored an exclusive one-hour private basketball clinic with Matt Mims and Sophie Johnston for up to five junior players! 🎉
📸 Here are just a few of our favourite moments from a fantastic night.
We might just have to do this again … 👀
