If your acne “gets better” in summer… just wait.

The sun doesn’t clear acne, it suppresses it temporarily. And when that inflammation rebounds, the breakouts often come back angrier, oilier and harder to manage.

UV exposure thickens the outer layer of the skin, which can trap oil and bacteria. It weakens barrier function, increases internal inflammation and slows proper healing. That’s why many people experience congestion and post-acne pigmentation weeks after heavy sun exposure.

Acne is already an inflammatory condition. Adding more inflammation isn’t treatment, it’s a delay.

So what should you do instead?

Protect the barrier daily with a non-comedogenic SPF.
