Lots of you have been having transfers lately. Some good results. Some not.
And either way, I keep seeing the same thing on my table: tears, then an apology for the tears.
Like they’re an inconvenience, or like IVF is meant to be tidy.
My loves, it’s not. It was never going to be tidy. You’ve been injecting hormones into your body on a schedule, checking apps for symptoms that mean nothing, googling implantation bleeding at 2am, and then waiting for a phone call to tell you if any of it worked. Of course you’re crying! That’s not ‘being emotional.’ That’s a completely appropriate response to a genuinely intense process.
A good result? You’re allowed to cry from relief. A hard result? You’re allowed to cry from grief. Both at once? Yes, also allowed — plenty of you feel relief and grief in the same breath, and that’s not you being confusing, that’s just what it is to want something this much.
From a TCM lens, this is exactly why I don’t just treat ‘fertility’. I’m treating a nervous system that’s been on high alert for weeks. Acupuncture doesn’t change your result all the time, rather, it changes how your body holds the waiting.
So cry on my table. That’s what it’s there for xx
