Join Shellharbour City Council and Community Industry Group for an important community event focused on raising awareness of elder abuse and promoting the rights, dignity and wellbeing of older people.

🎬 Free screening of Pianoforte – a powerful film exploring ageing, family dynamics, financial elder abuse, and the importance of dignity, choice and respect.

🎤 Hear from Jeff Smith, NSW Ageing and Disability Commissioner, as he shares insights into recognising, preventing and responding to elder abuse.

Our hearts go out to Kirby and her family!

Gabe, Kirby's courageous 8-year-old son, has recently been diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumour in his brain stem. He has already undergone emergency surgery and now faces a long road of treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.

As the family focuses on supporting Gabe through this incredibly challenging time, they are also facing significant financial pressures from medical expenses, travel, time away from work and everyday living costs.

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Carer Program is offering a FREE three-part online Disability-Specific Carer Education Program designed to support unpaid carers with valuable information, resources, and connections.
