Middle years assembly on Friday! We had much to celebrate with our wonderful middle years learners.
Bec shared about exciting Narbethong community events coming up: the Cross Country on 15 June and Pyjama Day on 22 June. It is also not long now until the June/July school holidays which will provide our students with the rest they need for more hard work in term 3.
In class celebrations, people shared about the wonderful work they are doing in writing persuasive texts, orientation & mobility (O&M), communication, self-advocacy and independence.
The students listened to Ditto’s song about ‘yes’ and ‘no’ feelings and discussed what to do if they have a ‘no’ feeling – tell a trusted adult. This led into the ‘I can do it’ song about resilience at school.
Students received Narby Brilliant Bee awards for persistence in exploring the environment, confident cane use, wearing glasses, using a communication device to learn and showing resilience. A very special “Golden Cane” award was presented to the fantastic Oval 2 learners who followed instructions to complete an O&M adventure together as a team. Well done to all Narby Brilliant Bees. We see your diligence and celebrate your achievements!
