Did you know 96% of Australian mothers start breastfeeding their baby:
by six months, only around 1 in 3 are still exclusively breastfeeding.
It's not because families lack motivation, many parents simply need more support, encouragement and access to the right care along the way.
This year's World Breastfeeding Week theme is "Breastfeeding for a sustainable start in life: Strengthen what works"
At Village Practice, we know that every feeding journey is different and no one should have to navigate it alone.
So, that said we'd love to hear from our community!
If you've ever breastfed - what was your experience like?
What helped you along the way?
Was there something you wish you'd known sooner?
Or is there someone who made all the difference to your journey that you'd like to thank?
And if breastfeeding wasn't part of your story or you've never breastfed, we'd still love for you to leave a few words of encouragement for a new parent. Sometimes a kind word is exactly what someone needs to hear 💛
Please remember that every family's feeding journey is different and what works for one family may not work for another - if you have any concerns about feeding your baby, your GP or another trusted healthcare professional can provide personalised advice and support.
