Last week, the Mental Health First Aid International Board came together to reflect on where the global MHFA movement is now – and where it needs to go next.
The day drew on consultation from regional partner assemblies in Europe, Ireland and the UK, alongside insights from staff, executives, the MHFAider Advisory Group and the Instructor Reference Group and hearing from our partners delivering in 51 countries. These conversations will help inform the global future direction of MHFA.
We were fortunate to hear from the esteemed Dr Alan Woodward on international governance, who facilitated a morning Board discussion. It focused on how MHFA can continue to evolve in ways that provide international support for partners while growing the movement so more people have the skills to have safe, informed conversations about mental health problems.
The afternoon concluded on key reforms to support the next two years growth in Australia, including future innovation across programs and delivery, strengthening the MHFA Workplace Recognition Program, and launching the new MHFAider Champions Hub, supporting a network of more than 300,000 MHFAiders.
