The divide between art and science runs deep in our culture.
Science is often seen as exact, objective, and bound by strict rules, while art is thought of as free, creative, and subjective.
But this picture misses the reality of how science actually works. In practice, science isn’t a rigid, step-by-step process. Like art, it requires judgement, intuition, and creativity, argues Ann Thresher.
