YIN ISN’T THE “EASY” CLASS. 🧘♀️ It’s simply a different kind of practice. 👇🏼✨
💜Instead of moving in and out of poses, we settle into long, passive holds — allowing gravity, time and props to do the work while we soften. And then we notice.
✨ We notice the sensations that arise.
✨ We notice where we want to resist or escape.
✨ We breathe, stay, and allow the sensations to change over time.
✨ We practise being with what is, rather than trying to force it to change.
💜Yin isn’t about pushing deeper, trying harder or gripping your way into a shape. It’s about melting into stillness >> While muscle tends to return to its resting state relatively quickly, the fascia and connective tissues respond to a much slower, sustained load — which is why Yin works with longer holds and patience rather than force.
💜The pose isn’t the point. The pause is. It’s the space where you stop doing and start noticing. Where the body softens, the nervous system settles, and you get to simply be.
So next time you roll out your mat for Yin, don’t expect easy.
Expect stillness.
Expect sensation.
Expect to notice.
Your yoga practice truly is about helping you to be the best version of yourself off the mat, in real life. And yin is great for that.
