They go to great lengths to steal, kill, jeopardise, disrupt and destroy. But those of us who are aware of their tactics can see straight through them. This is exactly one aspect of who they are and what they do..
Scripture John 10:10 says, "the enemy comes to steal kill or destroy."
Truth teaches us that the enemy is a liar.
The devil and his/her lies can absolutely wreak havoc on our lives.
He/she is, unfortunately, very good at his/her goal of stealing, killing and destroying.
Look around.
He/she can steal things like our peace or sense of purpose.
He/she can kill things like one’s self-worth, or faith in God.
He/she can destroy relationships, and he/she loves to do so.
He/she knows what he is doing in this world and he/she is effective.
But the verse doesn’t say, “the enemy gets to steal, kill and destroy”, it says he/she “comes” to.
He/she doesn’t have to be successful, friends.
I know right now there is something you are battling and the enemy has his/her hands all over it.
He/she wants you to believe his/her lies that there is no hope, that you’ve failed, it’ll never change, or that it’s over.
But He/she does not have to have victory here.
Right after saying why the enemy comes, Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”.
The enemy has power, but not the ultimate authority.
Jesus does.
He/shes come for you.
He=she’s come to help you in this very situation you’re in right now.
Sometimes the enemy just wants to distract you so you forget that truth.
Don’t forget. Don’t let the father/mother of lies win.
He/she comes to steal, kill and destroy.
But Jesus came to do the opposite.
