Did you know that 3 people die every day from opioid-related use?

Opioid overdoses can happen by accident. It’s more dangerous when opioids are mixed with alcohol or other medicines.

Naloxone is a medicine that can save lives by temporarily reversing the effects of an overdose, helping a person breathe again until an ambulance arrives. It comes as an injection or nasal spray.

Through the department’s Take Home Naloxone program, patients can get naloxone for free from participating pharmacies and health services - no prescription needed. Call in and chat to our pharmacist, at Pharmacy for Life.

Our pharmacists have undergone extensive training to ensure they have the knowledge and expertise required to diagnose and treat uncomplicated UTIs, so you can be confident that the service is safe and effective.

New data out today shows that in 2024-25, urinary tract infections (UTIs) were responsible for 91,700 acute potentially preventable hospital admissions nationally.

We know if treated earlier, these statistics would plummet.

That’s why timely access to care matters.

In Victoria, trained community pharmacists have already delivered more than 43,000 treatments to women for uncomplicated UTIs - improving access to primary care and helping keep patients out of hospital.
