Moovers n Shakers Music There's no doubt that exposure to music has many positive benefits for health, development and wellbeing, particularly in early childhood.

Musician, educator, and holistic energies practitioner, Kristy Russell is passionate about connecting community, inspiring learning and boosting wellbeing…all through the magic and power of Music and Mindfulness 🎶💗🧠 Music is the only universal language, it doesn't matter where you come from, what communication methods you use, or even what physical capabilities you have - music has the power to unite and connect people of all ages. Research shows us that being exposed to, and involved with music, stimulates many parts of the brain and enhances all areas of learning: from communication, social interaction skills, attention and memory, physical coordination, to literacy and numeracy skills. Moovers 'n' Shakers provides a unique opportunity for babies, toddlers and preschoolers to experience and develop their Musical potential, all the while in a supportive, fun and social environment. Aged care/dementia groups are also catered for, and private piano/keyboard tuition is also available for beginners to advanced levels. (Among other things!) Kristy Russell is a classically trained pianist, Qualified Teacher specializing in Early childhood, and self-confessed music-nut with over 10 years of experience in the teaching/music industry both in Australia and overseas. I love a good Ol’ chat 😂 and this one with my my dear friend and mentor Filly Chris & Filly Functional Medicinewas such fun and helped me gain even more insight to myself, people and world around me after the amazing Body Knows retreat💖🤩🎶
great listening for your morning commute/walk!🎧

We are joined with Kristy Russell from , one of our past Ending Body Burnout Method clients, who recently attended our first retreat - The Body Knows. Kristy opens up about her retreat experience - her perimenopausal season, grief and letting go of past younger versions of herself, giving her inner teen permission to just be, and science and therapy behind communal singing and sound baths. 🎙️

These real-life stories are super special - I call them “evidence collecting”. Evidence that healing IS possible. The more you can hear and see this, the more it becomes possible for you! So we are so incredibly grateful to the gorgeous Kristy, for coming on the show today, to spread hope and healing with others.

In this episode, Kristy chats to me about:

🎶 How she recently left a corporate job before burnout, and honoured her body and her current perimenopausal season

🎶 How the retreat was a big aligned yes the moment she heard about it - to support her in this transitional period

🎶 Discovering that her body was holding onto stored grief about leaving her job

🎶 Meeting her inner teen and giving her inner teen permission to stop doing and achieving, and allowing her to rest and be and potter and create beautiful things, for the sake of creating beautiful things

🎶 Waking up with a migraine on Day 2 of the retreat, as the ultimate pressure test to just be

🎶 The neuroscience around communal singing, and what happens at an energetic and spiritual level when we sing together to heal

🎶 Crafting a sound bath experience for deep grounding, safety and regulation

🎶 How being “allergic” to rushing is a great thing now!

🎶 Happy World Nursery Rhyme Week teachers!

Did you know that recent research shows that rhythmic speech, like nursery rhymes, help build a foundation for language from as early as two months old, which sets the stage for phonetic learning later on?

🧠 New neuroscience research reveals that babies learn language through rhythm before they recognize specific speech sounds.

📣 Tell your students, their parents and caregivers: talking and singing in rhythmic patterns plays a huge role in early language development!
