More importantly, 100 reminders that our community cares.

Thank you for supporting conversations that matter and for helping us build a future where people facing life’s final chapter are surrounded by compassion, connection and community.

Every like, comment and share helps Kindlewood reach someone who may need support today or in the future.

At Kindlewood, we believe the voices of patients, carers and families should help shape the services designed to support them.

We're sharing this opportunity from the WA Department of Health for anyone with lived experience of palliative care who would like to contribute to improving Goals of Patient Care conversations and processes across WA.

Your experience matters. 🧡

We’re introducing our little illustrations 🤍

To you, they might just look like drawings… for now.
But to us, they each tell a story.

We’re setting you a little challenge - keep an eye out for them on our posts, and even out in the community.
You might just spot one in your local supermarket…

When you do, let us know 👀

Because soon, we’ll be helping you see them in a whole new light.

Many of you already know me - my wee Scottish accent (which some of you only understand if I talk reaaallllyyy slow 😅).

I’ve been part of the Yanchep community for the past 8 years, and I’m the founder of LJM Memorial - now Kindlewood.

For those who are new here, this all began from a very personal place.

I lost my husband Liam to cancer.
He was full of life - I often think of him as the moon in the sky… providing light when it’s dark, making you feel safe - just like he did when he was here.

He was only in his 30’s when he passed.
And at the time, I was navigating that loss with two young girls by my side.

What I needed most back then was a community.
A place to feel supported.
Somewhere close to home, where we could hold onto a sense of normality while everything around us was changing so quickly.

But when I looked… there wasn’t anything nearby.
Not the kind of support families truly need during that time.

After Liam passed, I made the decision to build a home here in Yanchep.
And it was the community that drew me in.

Moments like a community day at Atlantis Early Years Centre that brought me to tears…
Or the familiar faces at the café on Lindsay Beach Blvd - no matter what it’s been called over the years.

Those moments made something really clear - this community has something incredibly special.
But it also deserves more.

Even now, as I sit here thinking about it all - the memories, the love - it still brings tears.
But they’re moments I cherish every single day.

And that’s why Kindlewood exists.

To create what I needed back then.
To build a community, to advocate for change,
and to fundraise for a hospice right here - so no family has to face that journey without support close to home 🤍
