We’re excited to have the support of Y-Local, Farmers Market and The Yanchep Project, who are helping Kindlewood turn everyday recycling into something meaningful for our community.

Keep an eye out for our 10c collection bags hanging on the back of bins at the Farmers Market being held at The Botanical gardens Yanchep (right next to the train station) on the 17th October 2026

Instead of tossing your eligible drink containers into the rubbish, pop them into a Kindlewood collection bag. Every 10c helps us continue building a community where care, compassion and connection matter.

A warm thank you to the local businesses and organisers who are making this possible. It’s community collaborations like this that remind us what a wonderful place Yanchep and Two Rocks is to call home.

At Kindlewood, we’re creating more ways for our community to connect, learn and support one another. 🧡

We’re working towards free community events including Palliative Care Week activities, Dying to Know Day, support groups, Kindle Club, Kindle Pub and fundraising events.

Our next Kindle Club is coming up on Tuesday 13 October at Jamaica Blue, Yanchep. We’ll be sharing more about it in our next post, so keep an eye out and share it with someone who may appreciate a welcoming place to talk, listen or simply be.

Dementia touches the lives of whole families. The person living with it, the partner adjusting to changes, the children trying to understand and the people caring for someone they love.

This October, The Second Chapter is raising funds to support people living with dementia and their families. 🧡

Supporting families through difficult stages of life matters to us at Kindlewood, and this month The Second Chapter community is coming together to show its support through additional fundraising activities.

On Monday 26 October, we’re hosting a morning tea at The Second Chapter. We’d love you to join us for something sweet and help raise funds for a cause close to many hearts.

There’s a little more planned for the month too. Keep an eye out for the details. 🧡

Danny’s Marathon is getting close. This Sunday, he’ll take on Every Step for Kindlewood at Optus Stadium in the Perth Running Festival. 🏃🧡

Preparing for a running challenge takes time and effort long before the day arrives. We’re grateful that Danny has chosen to put that effort towards supporting Kindlewood, and to everyone who has encouraged him or donated along the way.

His fundraiser helps us keep building the foundation for better end-of-life support close to home in Yanchep and Two Rocks. Our long-term goal is a local hospice, and community support is what will help us work towards it.

Before Kindlewood, there was LJM Memorial. 🧡

This video takes us back to where the idea first began and the reason behind the need for something different when it comes to end-of-life care in our community.

The name may have changed, and the vision has grown, but the heart behind it has stayed the same.

Kindlewood is still working towards a future where local families can access compassionate end-of-life care closer to home, while also creating more connection, conversation and support within our community today.

Every step since this video was made has helped shape what Kindlewood is becoming.
