Important Update for Our Bulk-Billed Patients
From 1 July 2026, there will be a change to the way Medicare requires bulk-billed appointments to be processed.
Patients attending a bulk-billed appointment will now need to provide consent for Medicare to pay the benefit directly to their healthcare provider at every visit. This is known as an Assignment of Benefit.

Consent can be completed digitally via SMS or on a paper form at the practice.

A new consent form is required for each bulk-billed visit.
These changes are being introduced by Medicare and will apply to all bulk-billed appointments.
