✨ Creatives in Our Community ✨
We are so lucky to have so many talented clients in our community, and it's a privilege to support them in pursuing their creative passions. Today, we'd love to share the work of Mandie, whose quilts are truly works of art. ✨🧵
"I made this quilt with so much love, especially for the beautiful colours woven throughout it. It was such a joy to create, and I enjoyed every technique that went into bringing it to life.
I love making quilts because each one tells a story as it unfolds beneath my hands. 🪡 By the time they're finished, they feel like true companions—and honestly, I never want the process to end.
Every quilt begins with cutting each piece to size and machine piecing them together into blocks. Then come the appliqué details, carefully hand sewn into place before the quilt top is assembled. ✂️🧵 The backing is its own creative journey too, choosing fabrics that contrast and make the colours really pop. Between the layers, I add wool batting to give the quilt warmth and softness.
Once the quilt top, batting, and backing are complete, it's sent to a long-arm quilter who stitches a beautiful all-over design in cotton thread. When it returns home, the final step is one of my favourites: hand sewing the binding around the edge. Only then is the quilt truly finished. 💙
