PART 3: Let’s take a look at the research 🧐
Skin remodelling begins long before significant bleeding occurs.
The goal of skin needling isn’t to create as much injury as possible. It’s to create enough controlled micro-trauma to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing response, recruit growth factors, activate fibroblasts and encourage collagen production, while preserving the skin’s ability to heal efficiently.
As our understanding of skin biology continues to evolve, so should our treatment approaches.
The most skilled practitioners aren’t the ones creating the most bleeding. They’re the ones achieving the best results with the least amount of unnecessary trauma.
Because great skin needling isn’t about making skin look injured.
It’s about understanding the science of regeneration.
A special acknowledgement to Dr Andrew Christie-Schwarz, whose research, education and evidence based teachings have helped shape much of the industry’s current understanding of skin needling and regenerative treatments. These posts have come from his work. Thank you for continuing to elevate our profession. We adore you 💙
