Important Medicare Update commencing 01.07.2026!

From the 1st of July 2026, all patients attending a bulk-billed appointment will be required to complete a Medicare Assignment of Benefit before their consultation can be processed.

For appointments in the clinic, our reception team will let you know at the end of your visit whether you need to sign the Medicare Assignment and Benefit form or simply press the green button on the eftpos terminal.

If you're having a phone or telehealth appointment, you'll receive a secure SMS with a link to complete the form online.

This is a new Medicare requirement for all bulk-billed services and helps Medicare pay your doctor directly. Thank you for your patience and support as we introduce this new process. If you have any questions, our friendly team is always happy to help.

Don't Ignore RSV This Winter!

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that can cause serious illness, particularly in young babies, older adults, and those with underlying health conditions. Symptoms can include a runny nose, cough, wheezing, fever, and difficulty breathing.

The best protection against RSV is vaccination, and RSV immunisation is now available at Yeppoon Medical Care.

Free RSV protection is available for:
• Adults aged 75 years and over
• First Nations 60 years and over
• Pregnant women (ideally between 28–36 weeks gestation)
• Eligible infants and young children at increased risk of severe RSV disease

Private RSV vaccination scripts can also be provided where appropriate.

To discuss your eligibility or book an appointment, please contact our friendly reception team or speak with one of our nurses. All vaccinations must be booked via phone.
