πΏ A LITTLE CLARITY ABOUT PHYSICAL THERAPY & SERVICES AT OUR LOCATIONπΏ
We would like to share a little story to help clarify something that has caused some confusion a few times in our businesses.
Although you may see several therapists working under the same roof, there are actually two separate businesses operating from our location in Paradera.
π₯ Transition 2 Health
Transition 2 Health has two physical therapists and also manual- (1), occupational(1) therapists providing therapy, training groups, workshops and wellness services.
π₯ Jerome van der Spil Physical Therapy
This is a separate physical therapy practice, where Jerome van der Spil is the therapist, and he works with AZV.
Because we work under one roof, it can sometimes look like one practice from the outside. However, private therapy and AZV-referred therapy are two different systems, and it is important to understand the difference.
π AZV Referral Therapy
AZV therapy is subject to a fixed annual amount. This means that there is a limit to how much therapy can be provided through AZV during the year.
Because of this, we have to carefully manage the available therapy capacity so that we can continue helping patients throughout the entire year. It is therefore not simply a matter of helping everyone who registers until the available amount is used up.
Patients are generally assisted in the order in which they register, while also taking into consideration the urgency and medical necessity of each case.
There are exceptions for situations where therapy is medically urgent; for example, after certain surgeries or operations where starting physical therapy shortly afterward is essential for recovery.
This is why having an AZV referral does not automatically mean that treatment can start immediately. Availability depends on the annual AZV allocation, our capacity, the waiting list, and the urgency of the case.
π Private Therapy
Private therapy works differently.
When you book a private therapy appointment, you are booking a consultation/treatment as a private client. This appointment is not automatically an AZV appointment simply because you have an AZV referral.
This has happened a few times:someone books and attends a private appointment and afterward expects us to take the referral and process the treatment through AZV.
We completely understand how this confusion can happen; especially because the practices share the same location. π
However, changing a private treatment into an AZV treatment afterward can put us in a very difficult administrative and professional situation, as these are two different systems with different requirements and limitations.
π So, please help us by being clear about which type of therapy you are booking when making your appointment.
If you have an AZV referral and would like your treatment to be covered through AZV, please let us know before your appointment so we can explain the process and check the appropriate pathway.
If you choose private therapy, please understand that this is a separate service and cannot automatically be converted to AZV afterward.
Our goal is to help as many people as possible while managing the limited AZV allocation responsibly, so that we can continue providing care throughout the whole year. π
Thank you for understanding, for communicating with us, and for helping us avoid situations that can be difficult for both you and our team. ππΏ
Two businesses. Two systems. One roof.
Clear communication helps us take better care of you. β€οΈ
