25 years ago, a simple yet groundbreaking idea changed thousands of lives: A hospital on a ship.
When the Lifebuoy Friendship Hospital first sailed in 2002, patients queued for 10 hours at Boktar Char, because for the first time, quality healthcare had arrived at their doorstep.
Today, this one ship has grown into a three-tier healthcare system which has delivered over 17 million instances of healthcare across Bangladesh. Proof that compassion, courage and collaboration can move mountains, or in this case, rivers.
