The heart is located in the human chest behind the ribs, between the two lungs. It is a strong muscle that pumps blood throughout the body. Although part of the heart is tilted to the left, its actual location is in the middle of the chest, specifically behind the breastbone (sternum). This is why the heartbeat is sometimes felt more on the left side, but this does not mean that the entire heart is on the left side.
