I conducted a field visit to the Manikganj Upazila Health Complex, Monno Medical College Hospital (Private) and a Community Health Clinic to gain practical insight into the public health system at the local level. The visit helped me understand how primary and secondary health care services are delivered to the community.

During the visit, I observed essential public health activities such as outpatient services, maternal and child health care, immunization, family planning, and basic disease prevention services. I also learned about patient flow, referral systems, record keeping, and the role of health workers in community outreach and health education.

This field visit strengthened my understanding of how public health policies and programs are implemented at the grassroots level and highlighted the importance of accessible, community-based health services in improving population health outcomes.

Tetanus: What You Should Know ⚠️
Tetanus is caused by the bacteria Clostridium tetani, which can enter the body through cuts or wounds, especially if exposed to soil, rust, or dirt.
Key signs to watch for:
😬 Muscle stiffness in the jaw.
😖 Painful muscle spasms.
⚡ Severe body stiffness.
❌ Without medical care, it can be very dangerous.
✅ The good news: it’s preventable!
💉 Vaccination (with regular boosters).
🧼 Always clean and care for wounds properly.
👉 Prevention and timely care make all the difference.

⭕ঘুমের সময় লালা পড়ে কেন?

ঘুম থেকে উঠে বালিশে ভেজা দাগ দেখলে বুঝবেন, ঘুমের মধ্যে আপনার মুখ থেকে অতিরিক্ত লালা বেরিয়েছে। ঘুমের সময়ও আমাদের লালা উৎপাদন হয়, যা সাধারণ বিষয়।

🤔 ঘুমের সময় লালা পড়া কি স্বাভাবিক?

হ্যাঁ, অনেক সময় এটা স্বাভাবিক। লালার উৎপাদন দিনে বেশি এবং রাতে কম হলেও, এটা সম্পূর্ণ বন্ধ হয় না। এটি মুখ ও গলা আর্দ্র রাখতে সাহায্য করে, যা স্বাস্থ্যর জন্য জরুরি। তবে অতিরিক্ত লালা ঘুমের সময় মুখ দিয়ে বেরিয়ে পড়লে অস্বস্তি, মুখ শুকিয়ে যাওয়া, এবং পারিপার্শ্বিক অবস্থায় লজ্জা অনুভূত হয় ।

😴 ঘুমের সময় লালা কেন পড়ে?

🛏️ ঘুমের ভঙ্গি:
যদি আপনি পাশে বা উল্টে শুয়ে থাকেন, তাহলে মাধ্যাকর্ষণের কারণে লালা নিচে পড়ে যায়। আর পিঠে শোয়ার সময় লালা গলায় বা মুখেই থেকে যায়। পিঠে শোয়ার অভ্যাস করলে লালা পড়া কমে যেতে পারে।

🤧 ঠান্ডা বা অ্যালার্জি:
ঠান্ডা, গলা ব্যথা বা সাইনাস ব্লক থাকলে আপনি মুখ দিয়ে শ্বাস নিতে বাধ্য হন, ফলে লালা বেশি পড়ে।

🔥 গ্যাস্ট্রিক রিফ্লাক্স (GERD):
GERD রোগীদের মধ্যে গলা ভারী লাগা, গিলতে সমস্যা ও লালা বেশি হওয়া দেখা যায়।

😴 অবস্ট্রাকটিভ স্লিপ অ্যাপনিয়া:
ঘুমের সময় শ্বাস বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া ও মুখ দিয়ে শ্বাস নেওয়ার কারণে লালা বেরিয়ে যায়। এ রোগে ঘুম ভেঙে যাওয়া, নাক ডাকা, সকালে মাথাব্যথা ইত্যাদিও হয়।

😬 দাঁত ঘষা (Bruxism):
ঘুমের মধ্যে দাঁত ঘষলে মুখ খোলা থাকে, ফলে লালা বের হয়।

💊 ওষুধের পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া:
কিছু ওষুধ যেমন অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক, সাইকিয়াট্রিক ওষুধ বা আলঝেইমার চিকিৎসার ওষুধ লালার পরিমাণ বাড়াতে পারে।

🧠 স্নায়ুজনিত রোগ:
পার্কিনসন, সেরিব্রাল পালসি, স্ট্রোক, ব্রেইন ইনজুরি ইত্যাদি রোগে গিলতে সমস্যা ও লালা পড়া বেশি দেখা যায়।


🏥 কখন ডাক্তারের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করবেন?

যদি মনে হয় আপনি অত্যধিক লালা ফেলছেন বা এটি কোনো স্বাস্থ্য সমস্যার লক্ষণ হতে পারে, তাহলে একজন চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ নিন।

When sliced, a carrot resembles the structure of the eye. It’s rich in beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A in the body—essential for maintaining healthy vision and protecting the cornea.

2. Mushroom → Ears
A sliced mushroom looks like a human ear. Mushrooms are a natural source of vitamin D, which is important for healthy bones and ear function, especially the tiny bones inside the ear.

3. Kidney Beans → Kidneys
Kidney beans are shaped like kidneys and help maintain kidney function. They are a great source of fiber and nutrients that support detoxification and blood sugar regulation.

4. Tomato → Heart
A tomato has four chambers, just like the human heart. It’s packed with lycopene, a powerful antioxidant known to reduce the risk of heart disease and support cardiovascular health.

5. Walnut → Brain
A walnut looks strikingly similar to the brain, with its two hemispheres and folds. It’s rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants that support cognitive function and memory.

6. Avocado → Uterus
Avocados resemble the shape of a uterus and are rich in folic acid, which is vital for reproductive health and preventing birth defects during pregnancy.

7. Citrus (Orange, Grapefruit) → Breasts
Citrus fruits, when cut open, resemble mammary glands. They contain vitamin C and antioxidants that may help reduce the risk of breast cancer and support breast tissue health.

8. Grapes → Lungs
Grapes hang in clusters that resemble alveoli in the lungs. They contain resveratrol, which helps reduce inflammation and supports respiratory function.

9. Olives → Ovaries
Olives are similar in size and shape to ovaries. They’re rich in healthy fats that help regulate hormones and support ovarian function.

10. Sweet Potato → Pancreas
Sweet potatoes are shaped like the pancreas and help balance blood sugar levels due to their high fiber content and low glycemic index.

11. Ginger → Stomach
Ginger root resembles the stomach and is widely known for aiding digestion, soothing nausea, and reducing inflammation in the digestive tract.

12. Celery → Bones
Celery stalks look like bones and are rich in silica, a mineral that strengthens bones. Celery also contains vitamin K, which is important for bone health.

Conclusion
While the resemblance between certain foods and body parts may seem coincidental, their nutritional benefits often align surprisingly well with the organs they resemble. This supports the ancient wisdom: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Eating mindfully can nourish and heal your body from the inside out.
