AFO এর পূর্ণরূপ হলো Ankle Foot Orthosis।
বাংলায় বলা যায়:
“গোড়ালি ও পায়ের সাপোর্ট ব্রেস”
অথবা
“পায়ের গোড়ালি থেকে পাতা পর্যন্ত সাপোর্ট দেওয়ার অর্থোসিস”
Medical explanation হিসেবে:
এটা এমন একটি brace/support যা ankle ও foot কে সঠিক position-এ রাখে।
হাঁটা সহজ করতে এবং deformity control করতে ব্যবহার করা হয়।
সাধারণত ব্যবহৃত হয়:
CP (Cerebral Palsy)
Stroke
Foot drop
Nerve injury
Muscle weakness রোগীদের জন্য।
