The HuMan Foot seminar begins this journey by rethinking one of the body’s most fundamental structures — the foot — and its role in human movement, stability, and overall health.

“HuMan: More Than a Seminar — a Learning Experience.” Anton Ghys is a movement specialist, educator, and physiotherapist with a deep passion for the foot as the foundation of human performance, posture, and injury preven

tion. With over a decade of experience in human biomechanics, Anton has dedicated his career to understanding how the foot influences the entire body — from subtle postural shifts to explosive athletic movements. Blending knowledge from fields such as physiotherapy, functional movement, neurodevelopment, and manual therapy, Anton offers a multidisciplinary approach to assessing and treating movement dysfunctions. Anton guides professionals on a journey to rediscover the foot not just as a structure, but as a dynamic sensory organ — key to stability, coordination, and longevity in movement. His seminars are known for their high-level content, hands-on learning, and immediately applicable tools for therapists, trainers, and coaches alike. Whether working with elite athletes or rehabilitation clients, Anton’s approach is grounded, evidence-informed, and deeply connected to natural movement principles. His goal: to help professionals reconnect with the body's foundation and transform how they view human movement, starting from the foot.

🙏 Participant Spotlight: Nick Maesen

One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching the HuMan FOOT workshop is seeing passionate professionals take these concepts back into their daily practice.

Thank you, Nick Maesen from , for your trust and for sharing your experience. Your feedback means a lot and reinforces the importance of looking at the foot not as an isolated structure, but as the foundation of human movement.

Can you squat with your heels elevated and stay balanced on your toes?

This simple variation challenges much more than leg strength.

✅ Improves ankle mobility
✅ Strengthens the foot and calf complex
✅ Challenges balance and coordination
✅ Builds awareness of forefoot loading

The goal isn’t to perform this perfectly from day one. It’s to explore how your feet, ankles, and nervous system work together to create stability.

Remember: movement is information. The more positions you can control, the more resilient your body becomes.

What a fantastic weekend in Hasselt at Motivus! 👣

A huge thank you to everyone who joined the HuMan Foot workshop. The quality of the discussions, the curiosity, the willingness to learn, and the hands-on engagement made this another memorable edition.

It was also a pleasure to teach at for the first time. An inspiring space, great facilities, and the perfect environment to explore the fascinating world of foot function, movement, and human biomechanics.

Every workshop reminds me how many passionate professionals are looking beyond symptoms and striving to understand the body from the ground up.

Thank you all for your energy, questions, and enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing how you apply these insights in your practice.

Next stop: Antwerp! 🇧🇪

In this article for , I share a few simple DO’s & DON’Ts that anyone can apply immediately.

No complicated tools.
No extreme changes.

Just daily habits that bring your body
closer to how it was designed to move.

Drink water.
Walk.
Let your feet feel again.

Strong feet don’t come from support.
They come from use.

Exploring Blotevoetenpad De Schorre…

Mud, water, stones, wood, different textures, one simple goal: let the feet feel again.

For children, this is more than just fun:
It’s sensory development, balance, coordination, and natural strength, all in one playful experience.

No shoes.
No support.
Just the body learning from the ground.

That’s how it was always meant to be.

👣 Tip: take your time, let them explore, and don’t rush the experience. The magic is in the feeling.

We did it twice in a row 🙈

Thanks sis for the awesome day 😎🤩

Barefoot shoes are designed to let the foot function the way nature intended.

Unlike traditional footwear, they offer:

• A wide toe box so the toes can spread naturally
• A thin sole for better ground feel and sensory input
• No heel elevation to support natural posture
• Maximum flexibility so the foot can move freely

Why does that matter?

Because a child’s foot is still developing.
And development happens through movement, sensory feedback, and adaptation.

Feet learn by feeling the ground.
Muscles strengthen by being used.
Balance improves when the nervous system receives real input from the environment.

That’s why my children only wear barefoot shoes.

Not because it’s a trend.
Not because it’s “extreme.”

But because I believe healthy feet create the foundation for healthy movement.

Strong feet. Better balance. Natural development.
Starting from the ground up.
