A table grown by two species, now in Paris.
From 18 to 25 October, our new table is part of , the selection of art and design presented by Nadia Candet in a historic Paris apartment.
The legs are two large, solid slabs of beech from the Sonian Forest, fused to the top by the mycelium that has grown into the wood. The top is a substrate of sawdust and shavings from our Brussels workshop, colonised by Ganoderma, a saprophytic fungus collected in the same forest. No nails, screws or glue: the mycelium binds the parts together. Assembly becomes growth.
Made in collaboration with , who cultivated the mycelium in Forest, Brussels.
