🌸 How can digital tools help amplify the patient voice in cancer care?

During the EUonQoL session on Day 1 of the , participants explored how quality of life data can help identify inequalities in cancer care and provide a better understanding of patients’ experiences and needs.

Cinzia Brunelli, Principal Investigator of the EUonQoL project, highlighted the importance of turning quality of life data into meaningful action — from improving care pathways to informing future cancer policies. The discussion also looked ahead to emerging AI-driven approaches for measuring patient-reported outcomes.

By listening to what matters most to patients, we can help build a more equitable and patient-centred future in oncology 💛

🎓 Why does scientific communication matter?

Publishing research is only one part of a scientific career. Researchers are also expected to present their findings, respond to peer review, collaborate with colleagues and communicate their work to different audiences.

Yet many of these skills are developed through experience rather than formal training.

Strong communication can help increase the visibility, understanding and impact of research — whether through publications, conference presentations or interdisciplinary collaboration.

➡️ In this carousel, we explore why scientific communication has become an essential skill for today’s researchers and clinicians.
