The 2nd International Multidisciplinary Consensus on the Integration of Radiation Therapy with New Systemic Treatments, an ESTRO-endorsed event, opened with a welcome from Barbara Jereczek-Fossa, who introduced Giuseppe Curigliano.

🎤 Prof. Curigliano delivered a speech entitled “From Diagnosis to Treatment: The Promise and Responsibility of Theranostics”, exploring the potential of theranostics and the responsibility that comes with its evolving role in cancer care.

🤝 The meeting brings together multidisciplinary experts to exchange knowledge and advance collaboration in cancer treatment.

We're off! 🚀 This morning, Prof. Daniela Thorwarth, Chair of the ESTRO Physics Committee, opened the workshop in front of more than 160 medical physics professionals from all over Europe. The room is buzzing with ideas, energy and a shared drive to move our field forward.

We are especially honoured to welcome Prof. Michal Pěchouček, Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague. It's a pleasure to have him with us as we start two days of discussion in the city of a hundred spires.

Over the next two days, participants will dive deep into five workshop themes:
🔹 Simulation-free radiotherapy
🔹 Variable proton RBE mitigation approaches for clinical practice
🔹 RODIN: Radiation Oncology Data Interoperability Network
🔹 Reducing physical uncertainties in Stereotactic Arrhythmia Radiotherapy (STAR)
🔹 AI application for biology and physics integration in radiotherapy

This is not another congress. It's a space to roll up our sleeves, challenge ideas, build new collaborations and shape the next steps for radiation oncology physics. 💡
