Endometriosis is a chronic disease affecting 190 million women worldwide, yet for many the pain is still dismissed as normal.

For years, Lianne believed her painful periods were something she had to live with. It wasn’t until the pain became debilitating after the birth of her second child that specialist care and MRI imaging led to an endometriosis diagnosis.

Today, Lianne is using her experience to raise awareness, empower others and remind women to trust their bodies and seek answers.

Asthma affects around 300 million people worldwide, yet Frances never imagined she would be one of them and is now sharing her story for MedTech Views.

As a busy paediatrician in her 20s, Frances assumed her constant coughing, wheezing and breathlessness were just part of the job until the right diagnostic tools finally revealed she had asthma.

Today, she is advocating for better access to asthma care, especially in low‑resource settings where even basic inhalers can be hard to find.

Vulval cancer affects approximately 16,000 women in Europe every year, yet Clare refused to let her diagnosis control her life and is now raising awareness during Women’s Health Month.

Clare spent decades living with unexplained symptoms before a biopsy finally revealed vulval lichen sclerosus and vulval cancer.What followed was surgery, CT and MRI scans, radiotherapy and later treatment for recurrence. Today, she has been clear for nearly three years.

Teonie was just 22 when she discovered her “flu-like symptoms” were something else. Tests revealed a rare autoimmune disease that had already reduced her kidney function to just 5%.

Thanks to medical technologies, from MRI and CT scans to home dialysis systems, Teonie has been able to stabilise her condition.

David was an experienced runner, so when his performance suddenly dipped, he knew something wasn’t right. After months of tests, a Holter monitor finally revealed the cause: his heart had stopped for 11 seconds. Ten days later, he received a pacemaker.

Thanks to medical technologies, from continuous monitoring to minimally invasive procedures, David is back to training, adapting his routine and using digital tools to stay safe.
