MOOJO ∞ Le Rituel Cacao

MOOJO ∞ Le Rituel Cacao MOOJO se veut diffuser & préserver la sagesse des plantes et promouvoir la diversité

At MOOJO, everything begins with cacao.
We source exceptional beans, grown with respect for the land and the people who cultivate them, and transform them in our Belgian workshop.
Some become pure, stone-ground cacao — rich and alive, for moments of ritual, focus, or quiet joy - for drinking purpose.
Others are crafted into dark chocolate bars, letting each origin speak through deep, clean flav

ors.
From bean to bar, from cup to bite, our mission is simple: to honor cacao in its purest form and share it with you, just as it was meant to be.

Ceremonial cacao is often associated with ritual.

And for good reason.

In its native lands, cacao has never been only a food or a drink. It has long been part of culture, community and spiritual life.

That heritage matters.

But the value of cacao has never been limited to a particular setting.

Sometimes it is shared in ceremony.
Sometimes it simply accompanies an ordinary moment.

The setting may change. The relationship remains

NEW ORIGIN: Yakaw Criollo Blanco 🇲🇽

A different expression..
Back in 2022, we were already searching for a true Mexican Criollo Blanco.

Not simply a pale cacao, but a rare origin revealing another expression of 100% cacao... softer, luminous and deeply delicate.

That search eventually brought us to Soconusco, Chiapas 🤎

There, Yakaw is linked to Finca Don Jorge, a project dedicated to preserving ancestral Criollo Blanco genetics through regenerative agroforestry and careful transmission work shared with neighbouring farmers.

Here, cacao grows between coastal mountains, rich soils and native trees.

Slow fermentation in wooden boxes.
Slowly sun-dried on wooden drying beds
Patient work at every step.

As cacao prices and demand intensified over the years, origins like these became increasingly difficult to secure — especially in Mexico, where true white criollo lots remain extremely limited.

Today, Yakaw finally arrives in its pure ceremonial form. No sugar. No milk. No additives.

Slowly stone-ground in our atelier, Yakaw opens delicate notes of dried apricot, almond shortbread, honey and soft caramel 😋

A paler cacao.
A softer expression.
Fully 100% 🤎

It’s easy to feel saturated today, by noise, constant input and too many things competing for attention.

In moments like that, it becomes easy to keep adding more.

More noise. More distraction.More input.

But often, what helps most is not more.

It is returning to what actually supports us.

A warm drink. A familiar gesture.
A quiet moment in the middle of a busy day.

Not as miracles....Not as trends.

But as quiet reminders that warmth, steadiness and depth still have a place in everyday life.

Not more....Better.

A thin shell…then it opens😛

Black sesame praliné, deep, slightly toasted.
A touch of cane sugar, a pinch of fleur de sel.

And our cacao, holding it all together.

Simple.
Deep.
Delicious.

Cacao as a return to what matters

We live surrounded by excess...

Too much noise.
Too many choices.
Too much food that fills, but doesn’t always nourish.

At MOOJO, we believe some things deserve to be seen differently.
Cacao is one of them.

Before it became a sweet treat, it was valued for what it carried: density, energy, stability.

Not something to consume without thinking....rather something to keep close.

Today, cacao finds that place again ❤️

Not as a trend, not as something to add to the noise.

But as a simple ally.

A warm cup.
A daily gesture.
A quiet resource.

Not more.
Only Better.

It has to feel right.

We don’t work with cacao halfway.

Every gesture matters.
Every texture.
Every transformation.

It’s not something you force.

You know when it’s right.

❤️

It has to feel right.

We don’t work with cacao halfway.

Every gesture matters.
Every texture.
Every transformation.

It’s not something you force.

You know when it’s right.

You’re not experiencing cacao the same way.

Traditionally, cacao is prepared with water
not by habit, but by intention.

Water doesn’t mask or transform.
It carries the cacao as it is, allowing its structure and aromatic profile to come through with clarity.
It is often felt more quickly, more direct... more immediate.

With plant-based milk, the dynamic shifts.
The natural fats interact with the cacao butter, creating a creamier texture and a rounder, more enveloping cup.
The experience tends to unfold more slowly, softer and often more grounded.

So, one approach reveals and the other embraces.
..and of course neither is better, it depends on what you are looking for in that moment.

Tell us, how do you prefer to meet your cacao? 🤎

Cut or broken.

A big part of our cacao is simply… broken by hand.
Piece by piece. No machines involved.

No identical shapes, no sharp cuts...just cacao following our hands.

These are our chunks.
Made to make your cacao ritual easier.

No knife needed, just snap a piece between your fingers and let it melt.

Because everything happens through the hands, the relation becomes more direct.
You feel the cacao before it melts, as if the gesture itself was already part of the drink.

Dosing becomes less about measuring…
and more about feeling.

Each chunk starts as a full big tablet which is stone-ground, carefully tempered, then simply broken by hand.

A more instinctive form 😛

Both gestures have their place.
Some prefer to cut, to take their time.... our 240g tablet is there too 🤎
