Two things happened today.

A fresh daith — gold Baguette seamring by Norvoch. Simple, intentional, perfect.

And a helix that had been pierced at a bad angle years ago. Hidden, uncomfortable, working against her anatomy. A ring kept irritating it because of the placement — not her fault, just a difficult situation to work with.

We went with the Day Dream by Ember. And just like that — a piercing that had been hiding for years finally had its moment.

Someone is going to book a piercing the week before their holiday, get on a plane, and wonder why their ear is swollen to the brim.⁠
⁠
❗️So let's talk about it — because this stuff actually matters.⁠
The first 2 to 3 weeks after a fresh piercing are the most vulnerable. Your body is still building a barrier around the jewelry. During this window, infection risk is real and it can go bad quickly.⁠
⁠
❗️Here's what most people don't think about:⁠
Flying with a fresh piercing causes extra swelling. If your piercing swells to the full length of the jewelry stem, your body will literally create an infection to release the pressure. That's not a maybe. That's biology.⁠
Add sea water, chlorine, dirty water, bacteria, sun cream — and you have a perfect storm for a healing piercing to go wrong.⁠
So the honest advice is simple: plan your piercing at least 4 to 6 weeks before you leave. ⁠
Or just wait until you're back. That's genuinely the safest option.⁠

The most common thing I hear after a piercing? "I can't believe I waited this long."

Not from a 16-year-old.
From a 42-year-old woman who spent years telling herself she was too old. Too professional. Too nervous. That it wasn't really her.

It was always her. She was just holding herself back.

Every woman who walks in here and takes that leap — she's choosing herself. Listening to that little inner voice she's been quietly ignoring for years, but she secretly wants it to scream louder.

And after? I see it in their eyes. That "wow, why did I wait?" That pause. That look that says — what else have I been holding back on?

Challenge accepted.

She came in with a friend who was getting pierced. No new holes allowed. So we did the next best thing.

Slide 2 is from over a year ago — already on her 'upgrading everything to gold' journey.
Slide 1 is where we ended up.

She'd been upgrading her titanium pieces to gold one by one over time — the way it should be done, no rush.
1️⃣Today we switched out the last two.
2️⃣Added a chain for that little extra something.
3️⃣Then we moved her existing pieces around to completely change the look.

Two new pieces. A bit of creative rearranging. One entirely different ear.
