Go Let`s Yoga Retret (09-15 September 2019)

Trekking in the sunflower fields from Golets village to Sokolovo village.
Next to Golets is another cozy and beautiful village - Sokolovo. If you are into bird-watching, you might particularly enjoy this walk. Sokol in Bulgarian means hawk, which is not an unusual sight around Golets and Sokolovo. It is very likely that you might see a hawk when you are trekking from Golets to Sokolovo. The sunflowers in September are also a perfect companion for the walk.

Our Activities@Go Let`s Yoga Retreat

Visit to Glozhene Monastery, the city of Teteven and Skoka Falls.

Discover the picturesque mountain monastery of Glozhene dating back to the 13th century. It is enchanting both with its history and scenic views of the mountains. The tour will take you to another historical Bulgarian town – Teteven, which is cozily settled on Vit river in the foothills of the Balkan Mountains. The cultural and historical trip will be concluded with exploration of one of Teteven`s eco paths, which reaches a fantastic waterfall. Skoka falls means “jump” in Bulgarian and for sure the sight will make you jump of excitement, it truly is a natural paradise!

Yoga Philosophy Classes @ Let's Go Yoga Retreat: Bhagavad Gita

One of our yoga philosophy classes will be devoted to the wisdom of Bhagavad Gita, ‘The Song of The Lord’, a 700-verse text in Sanskrit, which is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita covers a broad range of spiritual topics: Hindu ideas about dharma, theistic bhakti, and the yogic paths to moksha. These ideas are part of Vedanta philosophy, which will be looked at through the lens of our Bhakti practitioner Boriana.

Our Activities@Go Let`s Yoga Retreat

Dive in the authentic beauty and wilderness of the Balkan mountain with a hike around Golets.

Part of the retreat program is to get to know the nature and the environment around the complex. We will explore together meadows and the hills around the complex, we will walk along the quite creek that goes through the garden, we will follow it to a forest to reach unknown waterfall with monumental sculptural beauty. The waterfall is falling in front of a stone formation/cave, which is often mentioned by the locals in stories for past treasures, archaeological times and legends. The place is unique and is known only to the few residents of Golets.

Yoga Philosophy Classes @ Let's Go Yoga Retreat: Patanjali's Yoga Sutras

In ancient times yoga is first described by Patanjali in his treatise, the Yoga Sutras. The first chapter begins by telling us that yoga is restraining the mind to a state of equanimity so that the mind is not disturbed as it surveys the appearance and to know things as they are.The author also defines an eight-limbed path to yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi. In our yoga philosophy classes we will look into essential concepts of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and think of their meanings and application in our daily life.

Explore the beauties of the Balkans: Devetaki cave and Krushuna waterfalls.

Devetaki cave is spectacular natural phenomena, which has been inhabited by people 70,000 years BC. The Devetaki cave is among the cave deposits with the richest cultural artifacts from the Neolithic (6th millennium – 4th millennium BC). After visiting the breath-taking Devetaki sites, we will stop to visit Krushuna waterfalls cascade, which won’t disappoint you as well. Krushuna is the biggest water cascade in the country, with many travertine stages, rich of plants and animal species.

My name is Boriana or Rasa Purnima – my spiritual name, given to me by my spiritual teacher. I studied philosophy, culture and art history. For the last 10 years I practice yoga and Vedic philosophy – ancient wisdom and knowledge is applicable and makes our life happy and fulfilled with meaning. I traveled in India, where I experienced the connection with Hindu teachings and the life in a spiritual community, which I apply in my daily life. I connect with nature through meditation, free ride and windsurf.
I practice actively Bhakti Yoga, Bhakti theory and Kirtan.

My name is Iva and I am a yoga teacher and an art historian. I studied history, culture and art theory in Bulgaria, Italy, Denmark and the Netherlands. More than five years ago, I encountered the power of love and acceptance through yoga practice. Yoga has been a way for reconnecting with myself and helped me to bring awareness in my life. My asana practice in Amsterdam (NL), where I am based for the last six years, led to a journey in Guatemala, Costa Rica and consequently to a YTT with the School Yoga Institute in the Sacred Valley in Peru. I am interested in visual arts and yoga philosophy, and I offer Hatha and Vinyasa flows.

One of the most basic translations to yoga is ‘to unite’. Yoga is the connection between body, mind and spirit. In Patanjali' s Yoga Sutras yoga is defined as restraining the mind to a state of equanimity, so that the mind is not disturbed as it surveys us to know things as they are. Yoga is a spiritual system for the individual to transcend the material world, realise the true self and obtain pure consciousness. Throughout our yoga and kirtan journey we will aim to transcend the mind and find the true versions of ourselves.
