In 2013 we decided to do something extraordinary for post-laryngectomy patients. Despite the interesting and established engineering solutions at the market, we actually found there is no sufficiently good, intuitive, cheap and easy-to-use device helping post-laryngectomy patients restore their speech. s offer equal speech tone or uncomfortable tone controls. Surgical solutions cause enormous though temporary inconveniences and the resulting tone is even again and there are special requirements for the lungs capacity, so they can produce the necessary pressure for the production of vocal vibrations. The purpose of the first developed device was to offer equal-toned speech with comfortable strength and tone controls not requiring special tools or disassembly of the device. Thus the users will be able to change the desired tone multiple times whenever they like. We added power saving mode, battery level control and alarms for low battery level. We also added powerful rechargeable Li-io batteries. We made laryngophones light and small, moisture resistant and dustproof. These are the devices from the Comfort and Digital series. After the approval of specialists and patients we move on. We have started sales and continued to develop the desired full functionality. We increased the speaking time in one charge from 4 to 25 hours, integrated a charger in the laryngophone, eliminated movable parts, created full and intuitive functionality offering the option for each word to start and end at a selected intonation point.
