GYN Ultrasound Essentials 2026 has come to an end, and we would like to sincerely thank all participants who joined us onsite in Valencia and online from around the world!

Over two intensive days, we explored modern approaches to gynecological ultrasound through expert lectures, practical pre-courses, live scan demonstrations, and clinical discussions covering adnexal masses, endometriosis, ovarian cancer, emergency gynecology, uterine pathology, and AI in ultrasound.

🎥 Gyn Ultrasound Essentials 2026 continued with sessions focused on ultrasound assessment in patients with suspected endometriosis and ovarian cancer.

Prof. Inessa Safonova discussed atypical endometriomas, Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene presented deep endometriosis in the anterior and posterior compartments, Prof. Juan Luis Alcázar focused on superficial endometriosis and ultrasound staging of ovarian cancer, while Prof. Lil Valentin discussed malignization in endometriosis.

The program also included practical live scanning sessions with Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene and Prof. Lil Valentin demonstrating ultrasound assessment in patients with suspected endometriosis using the +IDEA approach.

The ovarian cancer session also covered transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound for staging purposes and practical approaches to ultrasound assessment in daily clinical practice.

🎥 The first day of Gyn Ultrasound Essentials 2026 has officially started with pre-course sessions focused on practical gynecological ultrasound and live scanning.

We began the day with Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene, who presented how to perform a normal gyn scan and discussed the role of 3D ultrasound in the assessment of uterine malformations. The session also included live vaginal, abdominal, and 3D scanning demonstrations.

The program continued with lectures by Prof. Tom Bourne on benign descriptors, Prof. Dirk Timmerman on the ADNEX model and tumor biomarkers, and Prof. Lil Valentin on pattern recognition for specific diagnosis in rare adnexal masses.
Prof. Tom Bourne and Prof. Dirk Timmerman also discussed how AI may change adnexal mass assessment, including ADNEX AI, radiomics, and their impact on clinical workflow.

The session concluded with live scanning demonstrations and clinical case examples using the IOTA approach in daily clinical practice.

FETAL EXAMINATION: Navigating the Future 2026 continues with the second part of Day 2 in Bucharest 🎥

The afternoon scientific program focuses on advanced fetal anatomical assessment in the second and third trimesters, with special attention to complex fetal pathology and practical scanning approaches.

After the lunch break, we continued with the session “The Second Trimester: Great Fetal Anatomical Discoveries. Part 2”. Prof. Katia Bilardo discussed abdominal wall anomalies, Dr. Jute Richter presented on thoracic pathology, and Prof. Nicola Volpe covered neural tube defects, including spina bifida and beyond. The session also included a live scan demonstration led by Prof. Katia Bilardo.

The final session of the course, “The Third Trimester: Observation That Matters”, is dedicated to late pregnancy assessment. Prof. Katia Bilardo will discuss the scanning approach in the third trimester, followed by Dr. Jute Richter with a lecture on fetal growth restriction, including diagnosis and management. The session will conclude with a live scan demonstration and course closing notes.

FETAL EXAMINATION: Navigating the Future 2026 continues with Day 2 in Bucharest 🎥
Today’s scientific program focuses on diagnostic navigation across pregnancy, from first-trimester screening to detailed fetal anatomical assessment.

We opened the day with an advanced scanning approach in the 1st and 2nd trimester, presented by Dr. Răzvan Stanca, followed by the session “First Trimester Diagnostic Navigation: US, NIPT, Invasive Procedures”. Prof. Katia Bilardo discussed first-trimester screening paradigms, Prof. Yaron Zalel presented on NIPT and the importance of timing, and Prof. Nicola Volpe covered invasive procedures in the first trimester. The session also included a live scan demonstration and discussion.

The program continued with an industry session on the importance of sFlt and PlGF usage in the modern management of preeclampsia, presented by Dr. Cristina Dimitriu and supported by Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The second part of the day is dedicated to “The Second Trimester: Great Fetal Anatomical Discoveries”, covering urinary tract obstructive pathology, skeletal dysplasias, and practical live scanning.
