Fetal Imaging & Beyond 2026 is less than two weeks away

On 24 October 2026, the 5th Annual Fetal Imaging & Beyond Virtual Course will bring together an international faculty of specialists in fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis and ultrasound imaging.

This year’s program focuses on abnormalities that may be difficult to detect, differentiate or correctly interpret during prenatal ultrasound.

Participants will explore fetal imaging across several key anatomical areas — brain, skull, face, spine, extremities and pelvis — with particular attention to complex pathology and diagnostic clues that can change the direction of further investigation and counselling.

The scientific program includes fetal brain malformations and common trisomies, facial clefts, congenital skull pathology, complex pelvic abnormalities, fetal limb and spine pathology, as well as Vein of Galen malformation and its prenatal evaluation and treatment.

The course will be moderated by Prof. Rogelio Cruz-Martinez and Dr. Ganna Grebinichenko, with an international faculty including Prof. Ritsuko Pooh, Prof. Karl Oliver Kagan, Dr. Marisa Borenstein, Dr. Vivek Krishnan, Dr. Valentina De Robertis, Prof. Jute Richter, Prof. Magdalena Litwińska, Prof. Marcin Wiechec and Dr. Carlos Corrales.

The second day of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology 2026 will be dedicated to Fetal & Obstetric Ultrasound.

The 10th Annual Virtual Conference “Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology” will take place on 5–6 December 2026, with two days covering different areas of contemporary ultrasound practice.

Day 1 — Gynecological Ultrasound will address cervical pathology, PUL and ectopic pregnancy, IOTA and ovarian masses, adenomyosis and endometriosis, adnexal torsion, caesarean scar pregnancy and ultrasound-guided interventions.

On Day 2, the focus moves to fetal medicine and obstetric ultrasound.

The program will begin with the third trimester, including pregnancy monitoring, anomaly scanning and the screening and management of vasa praevia.
A dedicated session on common signs with major clinical implications will examine echogenic kidneys, ventriculomegaly, flat facial profile and short femur.
The program will also explore the growing role of artificial intelligence in ultrasound, including support for routine assessment and syndrome detection.
The afternoon sessions will turn to the first trimester, with discussion of combined first-trimester screening in the era of NIPT, rare abnormalities detectable early in pregnancy and the selection of appropriate genetic tests.
The day will conclude with special lectures on late postpartum complications and ISUOG guidance on POCUS in Gynecology & Obstetrics.

The final scientific session of Adenomyosis & Endometriosis Diagnosis 2026 focused on three key areas of clinical practice: fertility, surgical decision-making and oncologic risk in endometriosis.

Prof. Ligita Jokubkiene opened the session with Endometriosis and Fertility: Should Ultrasound Change Clinical Practice?, exploring the role of ultrasound findings in fertility assessment and clinical management.

Dr. Valentina Ch***pa discussed Endometriosis & Adenomyosis: Risk of Malignant Transformation, addressing the oncologic aspects of these conditions.

Prof. Simone Ferrero presented Surgical Indications Based on Ultrasound Findings, focusing on how imaging can support decisions regarding surgical treatment.

Dr. Luciana Chamié concluded the lecture programme with Post-Surgical Findings: A World Largely Unexplored, highlighting ultrasound assessment after endometriosis surgery.

The session continued with a faculty discussion on fertility, surgery and oncologic risk in endometriosis, followed by closing remarks from Prof. Stefano Guerriero, course author and moderator.

The Adenomyosis & Endometriosis Diagnosis 2026 course continued with Session 2 — Endometriosis Mapping, focused on structured ultrasound assessment and practical approaches to different forms of endometriosis.

Prof. Stefano Guerierro .sguerriero presented the IDEA protocol, highlighting a standardized approach to ultrasound mapping of endometriosis.

The programme also included the lecture by Prof. George Condous on results from IDEA group studies and new research perspectives in endometriosis diagnosis, including AI.

Dr. Alessandra Di Giovanni continued with Deep Endometriosis: US Appearance by Location, reviewing ultrasound features of deep endometriosis in different anatomical sites.

Dr. Mathew Leonardi then explored Superficial Endometriosis: The New Frontier, discussing current developments in the ultrasound diagnosis of superficial disease.

The session concluded with a live discussion on endometriosis mapping, moderated by Prof. Stefano Guerriero.

We have officially started the Adenomyosis & Endometriosis Diagnosis 2026 virtual course with the first session dedicated to adenomyosis.

The session opened with a live lecture by Prof. Caterina Exacoustos on fertility and obstetric outcomes in women with adenomyosis, focusing on the impact of adenomyosis on fertility, reproductive outcomes and pregnancy.

This was followed by Dr. Lucia Lazzeri , who presented Ultrasound in the Diagnosis of Adenomyosis: Pros & Best Practice, sharing practical approaches to ultrasound assessment and diagnosis.

The session concluded with a live discussion on adenomyosis moderated by Prof. Stefano Guerriero, where the faculty discussed diagnostic challenges, ultrasound findings and their clinical significance..

The final session of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss & Human Reproduction 2026 focused on early pregnancy loss and patient-centred care.

Moderated by Dr. Joshua Odendaal, the session brought together clinical, research and psychological perspectives on pregnancy loss.

Dr. Letizia Li Piani presented “Hysteroscopic Resection as Primary Management in Case of Early Pregnancy Loss: Time for a Paradigm Shift?”

This was followed by Dr. Cecilia Lindnér, who discussed “Biochemical Pregnancy Losses Identify a Distinct Clinical Phenotype in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: A Prospective Cohort Study.”

The session then continued with Dr. Sindhu Sekar, who addressed the psychological impact of recurrent pregnancy loss.

The conference concluded with a joint discussion featuring Dr. Li Piani, Dr. Lindnér and Dr. Sekar.
