Our gratitude goes out to all who have watched and supported the film. We are the fortunate witnesses of how seemingly random moments can lead to greatness - every person you meet holds within them a spark - combine forces and suddenly there is a reaction.

Thank you to Alexia .films for your incredible courage and bada$$ womananity to jump head first into the unknown. Not so shabby for a first year filmmaker.

To Josema for always seeing the magic in others and being yourself. From a chance encounter on a train to this, nice work.

Matt and Herbert and teams for the incredible soundtrack and mixing. You guys gave a life to the story that is unforgettable.

To the Curandera community, for the incredible crowdfunding support to trust us in this dream, and for the years of choosing to practice and share yourselves - this was always for you! (We wish we could tag you all but IG limits, ugh)

Our Peruvian family, Patrick - Mario - Maestro Juan and all the support persons who gave us your time, energy, and love.

And most of all, to Tatiana you give us faith that we can be better, that we can be great - forever we walk in your footsteps.

More to come, 3M we are coming for you 😉🐛✨🦋

“Ayahuasca is not the answer to your problems…”

In this final episode of Voices of Ayahuasca, we explore a teaching that often gets missed: the medicine doesn’t fix your life — it invites you to become aware of how you’re living it.

The story follows Tatiana’s first encounter with ayahuasca and the message that redirected her path: go to the jungle. From there, the episode opens into an Amazonian understanding of plants as teachers — guiding us to release what no longer serves us, layer by layer.

Elders describe ayahuasca as a plant that teaches us how to let go so we can live more fully. Not a miracle cure, but a medicine that supports strength, clarity, and resilience when approached with respect.

This chapter is ultimately about preparation: of the medicine, the mind, and the spirit.

“Being a woman is challenging — no matter the role.”

This episode explores what it really takes to walk the medicine path as a woman. Through discipline, silence, fasting, and plant diets, the journey is not about status or recognition — it’s about responsibility, commitment, and inner fortitude.

In a space where masculine energy has dominated, this chapter reflects on the reality of learning, enduring resistance, and staying devoted to the practice. It’s a grounded look at how strength is built over time, and how a Tatiana Aya Tupinambá grew into carrying medicine with clarity and confidence.

This is our 5th and penultimate episode with our final episode coming in a few days.

Enjoy, share, like, and all women embrace your power.

“Here in the jungle, it’s very difficult to find a female curandera.”

Mauro Patrick Chávez Sánchez shares his experience working with Tatiana Aya Tupinambá during the preparation of ayahuasca medicine and daily life in the Amazon.

As a student of the late Maestro Juan Flores, Mauro speaks from lived experience about learning plant medicine through work, observation, and responsibility.

In this episode of Voices of Ayahuasca, he reflects on the importance of lineage, the realities of curanderismo in the jungle, and why the presence of a woman curandera is rare — and meaningful — in this tradition.

This is a practical look at Amazonian plant medicine as a long-term path that requires commitment, humility, and respect for the plants and the people who carry this knowledge.

Mario Flores Chota | Dieting the Plants
Voices of Ayahuasca

Plant medicine is not learned through shortcuts.
It is learned through patience, discipline, and respect.

Mario Flores Chota — son of the late Maestro Juan Flores Salazar — shares how he learned by assisting his father, observing closely, and entering into relationship with the plants themselves. In Amazonian tradition, plants are not resources — they are beings, teachers, and allies.

This episode centers on mapacho, known as el tabaco curandero — used through breath and prayer to transmit strength, protection, and healing when practiced with proper guidance and respect.

✨ Ethical plant medicine education.
⚠️ Not medical advice.
💨 To***co in this context is not inhaled into the lungs and requires professional, lineage-based guidance.

Tatiana’s Teacher | Maestro Juan Flores

Voices of Ayahuasca

In this intimate chapter of Voices of Ayahuasca, we are introduced to Maestro Juan Flores Salazar — a respected Amazonian curandero and one of the foundational teachers of Tatiana Aya Tupinambá. Speaking from lineage and lived experience, he shares how plant medicine knowledge is passed down through generations — through listening, observation, and relationship with the living world.

Maestro Juan reflects on a time before modern medicine, when plants were the primary remedy and curanderos served as guides for healing and balance. He speaks of learning the medicine as a child by watching his father prepare the plants, and of the spirits of curanderos who continue to sing and heal from the other side.

This short film was captured during the making of the award-winning documentary Curandera, now available on YouTube.

✨ This series exists to support ethical, authentic education around ayahuasca and plant medicine traditions. This is not medical advice and we encourage anyone considering partaking of plant medicine to consult with proper legal, medical, psychological, and spiritual professionals.

Ayahuasca is legal in its native habitats of Peru, Brazil, Colombia, and other South American countries, but not in the United States. There are risks involved with ayahuasca and psychedelic practices, and thorough personal education is essential.

Jungle Is Medicine | Voices of Ayahuasca

In this intimate chapter of Voices of Ayahuasca, Tatiana Aya Tupinambá invites us deep into the jungle to remember what modern society has forgotten: nature is not separate from us — it is our teacher, our mirror, and our medicine. Also present is the late Maestro Juan Flores Salazar.

Through quiet moments by the river, reflections on water, plants, and the sun, and a deep sense of listening, Tatiana speaks to the sadness and disconnection so many feel today — and to the ancient wisdom that still surrounds us. The jungle is alive, conscious, and communicating, if we learn how to listen.

This short film was captured during the making of the award-winning documentary Curandera, now available on YouTube. It offers a glimpse into the worldview behind traditional Amazonian plant medicine — not as a trend, but as a living relationship rooted in respect, responsibility, and presence.

Ayahuasca in darkness. 🌑

Tatiana shares a teaching from the Ashaninka tradition: Darkness and silence is a ritual of fear, but as a return to the place where all true listening begins. In the darkness and the quiet, there is nothing left to distract us from ourselves. No stories to hide behind. No performances. No masks.

Not all traditions practice this way. Many who sit with the plants do so in the daytime, or do so singing and dancing. This is not that.

Just breath, sensation, and the truth that rises when everything else is stripped away. It is in this kind of silence that we discover who we really are — not the version shaped by pressure or expectation, but the one that lives underneath.

And when that part of us is finally seen, it becomes the force that moves us forward… the root of our courage, our clarity, and our purpose.

This is one of the most profound learnings that Tatiana came too when she first began her practice with the plants. She was scared. She thought the devil was in the dark. So much was discovered and she has never been the same.

You don't ayahuasca to experience this. Through meditation it is no different. There is no greater teacher than the stillness that resides within you.

May we all return to the Jungle 🙏🏾

When Tatiana returned to the jungle, Maestro Juan Flores reminded her of something most people forget: the plants are not just plants.

They are the first ones to drink the light. They take in the sun, the warmth, the force that gives life to everything — and through the taking them into our body, that same light enters us. Maestro would say that this is how we receive the divine directly… not through ideas, not through dogma, but through the living world itself.

The jungle teaches us to feel the presence that has been here long before our stories. Tatiana carries this teaching as she walks, listens, and remembers the rhythm of the earth that shaped her path.

Do not wait to long, find nature, return to nature, be nature. This is as powerful as the medicine, to be in tuned with the natural world. Not some retreat center with more buildings than trees, but in the forest, the presence of the great ones that came long before us.

The Grand Secrets of the Curanderos! ✨

There is a truth that Maestro Juan Flores shared with Tatiana again and again:
not all medicine is the same, and not all who serve it walk with the same responsibility.

Ayahuasca is not a miracle you drink.
It is not a shortcut.
It will not fix your life for you.

The real secret — the one beginners often avoid — is that the medicine only shows us the path.
We are the ones who must walk it.
We are the ones who must release the stories we cling to, the identities we hide behind, the beliefs we inherited without questioning.

We must put love into everything we do. And give love to everyone, including those that harm us, harm others, and harm themselves.

To witness the miracle of being alive, something in us has to die first:
the false self, the fixed idea of who we think we are, the illusion that life owes us meaning without participation.

This is what Maestro taught.
This is what Tatiana continues to carry forward — not as a promise, but as a responsibility.
And as we remember him, we honor the clarity he offered:
the medicine is a guide… not a replacement for your own courage.

Maestro Juan Flores left this world in October 2025, but his voice, his teachings, and his ícaros continue to guide those who carry his memory with respect.

In this short moment, you see the connection between Tatiana to Maestro Juan Flores — a lineage carried not by words, but by presence, discipline, and the living breath of the ícaros.

Maestro taught that the songs are not decoration.
They are navigation.
They are protection.
They are the bridge between the world of plants and the human heart that is asking to be transformed.

Tatiana learned beside him with humility, observing the weight of responsibility that true knowledge requires. Not performance. Not ego. A commitment to integrity in a time when many drift from it.

We offer this piece in honor of him — and in gratitude for the path he opened for so many.
May his wisdom travel far and find those who can hold it with care. 🙏🏾🙏🏼🌱
