I offer tailor-made support services to assist foreigners in the process of setting up temporary or permanent residence or business in Brazil. Newcomers are usually surprised by the slow pace of life in Rio de Janeiro – at times this is part of its charm, however, it is often frustrating, even confusing. I am experienced in helping newcomers understand and adapt to the local environment, to manage the culture shock and to blend in with “Cariocas” (citizens of Rio de Janeiro city). I have worked as a English-Portuguese translator and interpreter for over 15 years, representing a wide range of private and public organizations based in the US and the UK, across procurement and sales, business negotiations, tourism and leisure, medicine, and retail. According to a client’s particular needs, I offer support in apartment hunting, arranging and attending doctor’s appointments and follow-up steps, banking errands, etc. I can accompany you on particular errands, make phone calls on your behalf, help you to get used to the layout of the city, guide you in choosing the right area to live in. I also offer private Brazilian Portuguese coaching to individuals or groups. Please contact me to discuss the challenges you are facing in Brazil, and how I can be at your service. I am available on a per-hour or per-day basis on any day of the week, please book in advance for your convenience. Alexandre Pinto
