Não são 5 dias, não são 21 dias. São 3 anos acompanhando. The goal of periodontal plastic surgery is not only to achieve root coverage, but to maintain healthy, stable, and esthetic soft tissues over time. In this case, the treated site demonstrates excellent tissue integration, increased keratinized tissue, and remarkable long-term stability at 3 years post-operatively.
Long-term follow-up is essential because true success is measured years after surgery—not just at the time of suture removal.
📚 Scientific evidence supports the long-term predictability of root coverage procedures. A systematic review by Cairo et al. reported that coronally advanced flap procedures combined with connective tissue grafts provide highly stable outcomes over the long term, making them the gold standard for the treatment of gingival recessions.

One of the highlights of my time in Milan: a workshop devoted to studying Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. Using red chalk, I recreated this detail of the hands, trying to understand how Leonardo built volume, gesture, and emotion through the simplest marks. The exercise reminded me that copying a masterpiece is not about replication—it’s about learning to see through the eyes of the artist. Five centuries later, these hands still have so much to teach.
